A Piece of Strange is a good album.. but its not even Cunninlynguists best, i dont know what you're talking a bout. I'd have to say Illmatic has way better rhymes and beats than APOS. Just read Nas' lyrics while you're listening to the album.. NY State of Mind, The World Is Yours, Halftime, One Love, Represent.. every song on the album is great. I always skip a few tracks on APOS.. that is what seperates a good/great album from a classic. I'm just rambling on right now hope it makes sense lol.

You skip songs on A Piece of Strange? I can't imagine skipping a song on that album. Also Illmatic has better beats? Are you sure we listened to the same album? I can't imagine that we're talking about the same 16 tracks. I don't know what CL has that's better than APOS either, and I have everything they've released. Also what do you skip? Some of the first times I listened to it I skipped the interludes just because I wanted to get the next song, but then I realized how much of a dumbass I was being, and also realized how infinitely complex the CD is.

On Illmatic I have skipped, and have the urge to skip a lot, but I try as hard as possible to resist the urge just to get the experience of listening to it all the way through again. Except The Genesis, I skip that 99% of the time. I usually skip Life's a Bitch after AZ's verse is through since the hook is annoying and I don't want to have to listen to it, not to mention AZ's verse is ridiculous (in a good way) so I have to listen to it. The most skippable song on the album is One Time 4 Your Mind (basically a filler, which is worse on a nine-song album). If I were to just listen to the songs with good beats, I'd listen to The World Is Yours, Memory Lane, One Love, Represent, and It Ain't Hard to Tell. So that's five songs, hardly greatness. The other songs have beats that are good enough in order for Nas' rapping to make up for it, but if some shitty rapper like 50 Cent or Lil' Wayne were to rhyme over them, then they would be some of the worst songs imaginable.

You don't like one time 4 your mind? I love that track man! I really did love a piece of strange when it came out.. just doesn't have the same replay value as illmatic IMO. I like Will Rap For Food a little more.. i'll be back with more I gotta get back to my homework, had some ADD for a minute.

Well perhaps I was harsh to call it a filler, but it doesn't seem like much of a substantial track either. Yeah I really do like Will Rap For Food for the individual tracks, but as far as a full album goes I just can't rightly say anything is moreso than APOS. 616 Rewind is awesome, though any track with Tonedeff on it I'm bound to love. Speaking of which how about Archetype by Tonedeff? That album sounds more up your alley.

The funny thing is that they don't think they are.

But really, how does that make one nerdy?
