They found tool's that predated the earliest known humans. There was no skeleton found.

But it was not until this year that new dating techniques revealed the tools to be far older than the oldest known Homo sapien bones, which are around 195,000 years old.

Using argon-argon dating—a technique that compares different isotopes of the element argon—researchers determined that the volcanic ash layers entombing the tools at Gademotta date back at least 276,000 years

Lucy was not a member of the family Homo Sapiens, she predates these tools by about 2 million years. She was one of the original hominids - That is to say, she was bipedal.
National Geographic is certainly pretty credible as a source, but I don't see why hominids prior to homo sapiens can't have made these tools....Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon men were capable of tool use, it's just a question of how far back this ability stretches, surely? All this evidence seems to say to me is that hominids prior to homo sapiens were capable of creating tools like this, it seems unnecessary to invoke our species without direct evidence of their existence here.

Good point, I didn't even realize/remember how old Lucy is. I'm not sure why they couldn't have made these tools either but I trust National Geographic.

Psalm 93: (basically says this)= The sun revolves around the earth from east to west, hell is below the earth while the third heavenly body is God's abode.

I guess you still believe this as well, oh and forget about those Jurassic Park looking monsters.

The Psalms were about being artistic. They weren't meant to be taken as laws of nature.

It's sort of like the song "Smoke on the Water".

    The Psalms were simply songs.

As for dinosaurs, I do believe they existed. It fits in, but I'm too lazy to explain. I will say, however, that carbon dating has been shown to be flawed. Thus, don't bring it up.

tidus just shut the fuck up. if you think that radiometric dating is the only method by which scientists have to date fossils then you're just a fucking idiot.

also carbon dating is limited to about 60,000 years ago, so we're talking about well before its limits.

anyone that makes any claims that the dinosaurs, which are just a relatively small number of the numerous species that preceded humans on earth, lived a few thousand years ago aren't even qualified to study the fossil evidence themselves.

how do you explain the other eras of species that preceded the dinosaurs? do you think that dinosaurs were the first life to appear on earth? what about the couple billion years of single cell life, the proliferation of life in the oceans before animals ventured onto land, etc.?

you have absolutely no clue about what the fuck you're talking about.

maybe you can't reconcile yourself to the fact that you've wasted years of your life searching for truth from a single book that doesn't contain all the answers you were looking for.

lol ,people used to be killed for saying things in the bible weren't meant to be taken literally, now when somebody points out something that has been proven wrong or doesn't make sense the only reply is "It's not meant to be taken literally, it's a metaphor" This "it's being artistic, like a song" is new to me but I expect to hear it a lot more often now.

Psalms is my least favorite book in the bible, i think it's 14 and 52 that says something to the effect of "If you don't believe in God, then nothing you do in life is good, you are not a good person etc."

So in effect, bible is B/s.

Also, where in the bible does it say anything about the world being only a few thousand years old? I understand "First day" etc, but maybe the God man made all that shit in 4-5 days took a break for a few hundred million/billion years and then made man, y'know because if you have infinite age, what's a few eons to ya?

    That was fantastic.

Adding another 80k years makes mankind's mental evolution a lot less impressive.

So I'm guessing your part of the flat earth society as well? In the bible it states that there are four corners of the world...so that means it can't be round right?

Evolution is such a lie. You have all seen the chart. The monkey's going upright till they become human. If we came from the sea, where are the fish? And why have no monkeys turned into humans? It is clear that not only was a god involved, but the god that I worship.

Wait, what monotheistic religion are we talking about now?

And whatever happened to the Roman-Greco gods/goddesses? If Rome never went Christian, what would the world be like today?

If Rome hadn't fallen, we'd be speaking Latin and I'd be a famous philandering senator (women would have been allowed to be senators eventually, just like maybe last year or so).

Christianity of course...the god I worship is real and since there is only one, there can only be one religion, all others are false. Duh.

changing a major event like that would require countless other thing to be different so it's impossible to know.

he didn't ask what would happen if rome hadn't fallen. he asked what would happen if the empire didn't go christian. two completely different and unrelated things.

    i was high whatever

if rome hadn't gone christian well who cares because alternative history is pretty much irrelevant unless you're talking about using hypothetical alternate scenarios to make decisions going forward and that is not really going on itt
