Hm, I'm going to go out on a limb here and throw out
Tool - Aenima
The Black Keys - Attack & Release
Radiohead - Ok Computer
Portishead - Portishead
Muse - Absolution
Madvillain is his best album, BY FAR. Took me 10 listens to understand it though.. madlib's beats are on another planet and doom comes with his best lyrics and flows here. His flow does take a little bit to get used to, I had to read the lyrics along with the songs to understand that what he says makes complete sense. His new album was just annouced to release March 23, here's the tracklist:
doom
I'd rank his albums like this -
Madvillain > Operation Doomsday > Viktor Vaughn > MM..Food > DangerDoom > King Gheedorah
Also check out KMD - Mr. Hood and KMD - Black Bastards (KMD was DOOM's group back in 91 or something like that, his brother subroc was killed by a car accident I think.. he lived on the streets until 98 or so when he reppeared.. just read his wiki or bio, very interesting)
But all of his albums are good, don't get me wrong.. reading lyrics along with his songs does help understand his genius though: http://forum.hiphopsite.com/Topic79074-15-1.aspx
Immortal Technique - The Revolutionary Vol. 2
Jedi Mind Tricks - Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell
Paul Simon - Graceland
Bob Dylan - The Essential Bob Dylan
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Legend
5 CD's that get the most play time in my car.
^Revolutionary Vol 2 is the album that got me into hiphop.. along with Dead Prez - Let's Get Free
That's true, but there's very accessible albums from those genres that spring to mind easier. I do agree with you though, but from what I've been saying then I think I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning would be a better choice.
Jeff Buckley - Grace
I'm not gonna order them.
Portishead - Dummy
Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place
Radiohead - Kid A
Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
Also I'm glad someone mentioned Justice. They're excellent.
I could go on forever and list ~100 incredible albums (in my opinion) but these are some of the true gems on my list.
My Morning Jacket - Z
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The Black Keys - Thickfreakness
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
TV on the Radio - Dear Science,
I'm gonna throw out Little Worlds by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
In before somebody incorrectly says they are terrible.
Here's a list of some of my favorite albums:
top 5:
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Madvillain - Madvillainy

Babar, I love you, because you are like the anti-me. Here I am the self-hating black man and there you are the self-hating white jew.
What is your top five?
I honestly think everything you're saying is pure garbage but I'd like to get a chuckle out of your favorite rap albums.
The Best of Marcel Marceau
Can't believe I forgot this one
