I just got the album 'Dummy' and it's awesome. I was meaning to check them out for a while, just got around to it today. Anyone else listen to 'trip-hop'? Any recommendations based on this album?

I do like a bit of trip-hop, but my mind blanked the second I entered this thread for some reason. I really liked Portishead the first time I heard them, but then I started to like them less and less as time went on.
Portishead is definitely in my sleep playlist

Hey guys I just heard this new band. They're called the Beatles. I think they're gonna be big...
I am disappointed this thread is not about the mediocre town in Bristol.
Well, babar, I'm proud that you didn't make another thread about rap.
I like Portishead. Try using pandora.com for finding similar music (duh)
Massive Attack is good.

Maybe some Tricky too. Roots Manuva also has some good stuff which blends trip hop with underground UK hip hop.
Good call on Massive Attack, I always forget about them.

TV on the Radio are like Massive Attack on speed. Try them.
But TV on the Radio is nothing like Portishead
lol, relationships are funny
EDIT: This post is based only on my long-term memory and may not be correct
That's true, but this thread became all about Trip-hop and not about Portishead and I'd say TVOTR are related to the trip-hop genre.
I have a cousin like that.
He's not my type though.
Massive Attack, Tricky, Stervhia, The Silk Demise
Then you have Air and Zero 7 who veer off onto one side of trip hop, and artists like DJ Shadow and DJ Krush who are on the other side
I just picked up this CD the other day, it's great! Apparently their album "Third" is amazing as well. Gonna have to check it out
