Just tried using Songbird, and while the layout is pretty and there are some good addons, good god that thing is slow to start and it's a massive resource hog. Bit like itunes, really.
Ive been using iTunes just because I have an iPod and I like the way everything is presented. I tried to switch to WinAMP but switched back after a while because it was kind of weird in general. I liked the plugins I had for it and the visualizers but I end up always going back to iTunes.
I started using itunes, and i liked it, but my laptop has quickkeys for media and it doesn't work with itunes
wmp, here i come again
I use Winamp on my regular computer and Media Monkey on my backup/server computer due to the sheer number of files. MM handles large collections like a dream, and "party mode" (requires a password for anyone to change the playlist) is totally awesome - I hate it when I get songs in the right order and drunk chicks who want to "see what you've got" fuck it up.
Being a Mac user I stick with iTunes, though I've been regretting that decision of late. I just can't find a program to replace it that I actually like. I attempted to use Cog a while ago, but after a while I just got tired of it. I usually just listen to my MP3 player or CDs on my surround system, though.
