Girl Talk released his new album today (November 15th). You can download it for free here: http://www.illegal-art.net/allday/ . Although I recommend just finding a torrent for it because the servers the album is officially hosted on are being overloaded.

I just finished listening to album. At exactly an hour and 11 minutes, All Day is the longest Girl Talk album thus far. For comparison, he last album, Feed the Animals, was 49 minutes. I mostly enjoyed All Day. The beginning of the album is a little weak compared to the end (and compared to Feed the Animals). The sample of The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" in the second song, "Let it Out", seems really off.

I really liked the pairing of Phoenix - "1901" and Ludacris - "How Low" in "Triple Double". Actually I really like all of "Triple Double". Another sample pairing I really like is Jay-Z - "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" and Modern English - "I Melt with You" in "Every Day".

If you didn't like Girl Talk's previous albums, you won't like All Day. This is basically more of the same stuff but with different samples.

My first impression is that All Day isn't as good as Feed the Animals. It lacks some of the musical genius moments that make Feed the Animals so great (see 0:12 into "Play Your Part (Pt 2)".) However, I can already tell that I'll be listening to this album on repeat for the next week or so.

(I'm sad that Girl Talk won't be touring anywhere near me )
