But I've never understood the importance of marriage. I'd say 75+% of my friend's parents are divorced, of my friend's who have gotten married, I'd say 10% are divorced(and this is only with like 1-5 years behind their belts), and I guess my parents being divorced have something to do with it.

I just don't get the idea that I have to have legal documents stating I intend to spend the rest of my life with someone. But, my girlfriend finds it super important, to one day get married, I'll do it. I mean, I love her more than anything, It's not anything for me to get married. It's just that in the event we end up splitting up, I wouldn't be actively searching out a 'wife'. More just a person I like to be around, and who I like to fuck.
