Also, I went to a nice Italian place for Vday and they had Hendricks Gin at the bar. Ive been wanting to try it, so I got a double on the rocks. That stuff is so smooth it puts Bombay to shame.
puts Bombay to shame? for real?
I must get me a fifth of this then
I mean Bombay is awesome, but Hendricks is so much smoother. Its also a good bit more expensive. Ill get a 5th or two and save it for special occasions. lol
No bars have bitters unless they are cocktail bars.
Gotta be cucumber instead of that lime which leads nicely onto:
Oh my god yes. As mentioned above, I love that shit with tonic and some diced cucumber. This is especially good when ordered from inexperienced bar staff who think you are joking, until you actually insist that they either go and dice some cucumber or fetch the manager.
Picked up a 12 pack of the shiner "family reunion", basically all the different shiners. A shiner for every season.
I especially liked the shiner black label. Very.tasty. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys dark lagers (brewed right here in shiner, texas).
I swear the mar-GO-ritas drink would get me drunk, with heartburn and vomit. I don't think I could drink it, at all. I have never tried it, but I imagine it's like Mike's Hard (insert non-alcoholic drink name here) or any of the Smirnoff Ice drinks... which cause me to puke so much if I drink them to get drunk(really, if I drink more than 3 or 4 of them).
I just dont like Tonic. I dont know if the tonic we have at work is nasty or what, but Ive tried it multiple times. I just like the taste of gin, I guess thats why I drink it with club soda. Its basically water. I may give it another shot though. I need to get some tonic thats not from a tap.
And I need to try gin and club soda with cucumber.
Drank enough Sailor Jerry's and DP or Coke for two of us tonight, I'm tired of Birthday week(3 people I kn9ow turned 24(2) and 28(1) this week)
Tesco value vodka. from the bottle.
The people I work for value drinking a lot. They value drinking any time any where. I have found myself forced to enjoy drinking mid day. Typically I hold out for beer, but I don't really care what it is.
Haven't had a good drunk feeling a while. Just a slight buzz from a lack of heavy drinking. A double of any vodka would probably have me feeling real good now. Minute Maid had a 4 for $5 sale, so I ended up getting Cherry Limeade, Pink Lemonade, Fruit Punch, and Cherry Lemonade. Probably mix that with some Grey Goose and I'll have a nice drink to sip on while doing some homework.
A beer I haven't had in a longtime but now remember how much I like it is Magic Hat 9. A pale ale with a fruity taste. Really good and I rarely find it at any of the regular bars I go to despite their propensity to serve all sorts of IPAs and microbrews.
I spent $80 on gin today.

Worth it.
On the menu tonight.

I drank some cheap tequila and sprite the other night. Then I drank beer while playing beer pong the night before last.
picked up a handle of evan williams honey reserve
tastes good, gets ya durnk
It was delicious. The cucumber flavor is really good, and makes it go down so much smoother.
Ill dice them next time. Actually, I feel like drinking now. How big should the diced cubes be? Like 1cm squared?
And hell no on the onions. Im not trying to make a bloody mary. Which are disgusting BTW.
Presidente Margaritas at Chili's is pretty good
You and margaritas... well I guess it's like me and rum and coke, but still
Does nobody drink cider around here? Mmm, apples.
i drink old rosie if the pub im at has it. love that shit.
Hmm, never heard of a cider you drink at room temperature, but I guess that's an English thing.
I normally find scrumpy unpalatable. But there's one brand, Old Mout, that makes a scrumpy that isn't overpoweringly dry. Old Mout mix their ciders with all sorts of fruit wines. Last I tried was cranberry cider from them. It comes in a 1.5lt PET bottle - all class - for NZ$8-10 (~USD7.31/GBP4.54).
This brings up the question of how that price compares elsewhere, but I think I'll start a thread in The Mess Hall for that.
Asprin you should try Boundary Road Brewery's Grizzly Beer it is tasty as fuck.
I've tried 5% ginger beers from Harrington's (Chch) and Stone's (South Australia). They were both disgusting. But I'm always looking for a good ginger beer or ginger infused beer and this sounds promising. I'll get it next time I'm at the supermarket. Chur James.
I'm not really a cider person in general, but honest to god, old rosie tastes like straight up apple juice. It's dangerous stuff, very easy to go overboard on.
As for scrumpy vs normal...scrumpy all the way. I wouldn't ever drink normal cider tbh. Kopperburg is ok. Cider just reminds me of cheap drink at the local park, sat on a bench.
As fun as that was, I don't want to drink shit like that ever again.
Ideally I'd drink good stouts and porters, The Macellen 12 year, Booker's Bourbon, and Henricks Gin. Though I do love Broker's (mainly because the bottle wears a fucking hat), I haven't been able to find it around here. Founder's Breakfast Stout is easily my favorite beer. It's far from top shelf, but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Wild Turkey 101.
In reality I'm a piss poor drunk. As a result, you'll usually see me drinking Old Crowe or Ten High (if I have to settle) for bourbon, Seagram's or Burnette's for gin, and Hamm's for beer. I loathe vodka, can't afford tequila I don't hate, and the only rum I really like anymore is Sailor. One of my favorite things to do when ordering at a bar is to ask for the "dirtiest welliest whiskey and water" they've got. Bartender's usually get a chuckle out of it.
Of course, this is all assuming that I'm paying for it. If you put a drink in front of me, I'll drink it.
Kahlua and Milk.
I like cider, but I hardly spring the extra buck for better beers.
Vodka and Cranberry Juice. I feel like my grandmother when I drink it, but I like CJ enough without the added kick to it, can easily drink a gallon in a day. Handle of some vodka, and a gallon of CJ will keep me drunk from morning til night.
I've got work in an hour and half, so I should probably smash another Bloody Mary to make sure I can function.
Any BM fans? What does your recipe look like?
Bloody Marys are disgusting. Almost as bad as that tomato juice and beer crap.
