Thread: I just had to pull my clothes dryer apart for the 6th time in the last 3 months...

It's shot. I replaced the little metal knobby thing in the back of the drum, and the bearings/cuppy thing it sits in about 4 months ago (these are technical terms).

Unfortunately it seems the plastic clips that hold the drum stable weren't doing their job. The drum slowly started to tilt downwards in the front. clothes started to get caught between the front of the drum and the door. Hoodies & sleep pants had their strings eaten. Zippers were consumed, socks had more holes in them than normal.

I ripped it apart to try and see what's wrong with it and if I could fix it again. no such luck. it's dead.

So now I have to go spend like $400 on a new dryer tomorrow

Thankfully I've been working like a Japanese businessman who's trying to avoid his wife for the past week, and I have a little extra income. It was supposed to be for my birthday, but I guess when you're my age a new clothes dryer is a pretty good present.

What's the worst birthday gift you guys have ever received?

I've had a few birthdays where I got absolutely nothing from whomever I was dating at the time. I've had some horrible boyfriends.

Worst? My mom forgetting to pick me up from Drill. I was in the LA ARNG before moving to MS and transferring there. One weekend, can't remember if it was the Saturday or Sunday, I stood waiting and waiting and waiting. On my birthday none the less!

One thing I do hate now is getting something for my birthday. My wife is all like what do you want and I'm like nothing and she's all like no you got to get something and I'm like I'll buy it myself. Or.... Maybe you could do something for me...

Birthday surprise! I bought a new dryer AND washer for the low-low price of $1100

(they were floor models)
