    But McCain is better than Obama.

    And Scarf, you're mostly right about the economy, but I don't think it will be as bad as you think it will be.

    You're stating fact on an opinionated topic. You can argue that specific policies are better but even then its based a lot on opinion.

    Well at the moment it looks like things are stabilizing (based on the NYSE [lol I know that is a terrible thing to base it on but oh well]) but gas prices are still sliding which I hear is a bad indication.. I just filled up for $1.95/gal in Indianapolis.

    My fear though is that the money being injected is just a temporary band-aid, and if we don't get back on our feet the root of the problem will come back to haunt us in 15-20 more years and at that point, having never recovered fully, we won't have the trillions of dollars necessary (not like we have it right now) to jumpstart us again, for real. Let's take our knocks now and fix the root of the problem - abolish the Fed and let the free market dictate lending rates.
