    Sup,

I've wearing my silver band, blue-faced ESQ Swiss watch for a bit over 5 years now. I need change.

I'm looking int either Skagen or Kenneth Cole

Amazon.com: Kenneth Cole New York Men's KC1568 Iconic Chronograph Black Leather Watch: Kenneth Cole: Watches

Amazon.com: Skagen Men's 433LSL1 Slim Brown Leather Watch: Skagen: Watches

Amazon.com: Skagen Men's SK233XLTMD Titanium Brown Espresso Dial Watch: Skagen: Watches

I'm looking for some cross between Mad Men and Barney Stinson, as I will typically have to be wearing a suit with this watch.

In my line of work, I'm not permitted to carry or use a cellphone in certain areas or even entire buildings. Also watches have the two-fold benefit of looking amazing and a subtle glance can give you all the information you need as opposed to making an obvious gesture towards your phone.

Nice find! I'll add it to the mix of the ones I'm considering.

You want a quarts or a mechanical watch? How much do you want to spend? Orient makes some nice watches that aren't too expensive. I have the Mako with a black face and SS band. Under the executive link there are some really cool looking watches. I like this one but it doesn't have day or date. Of course they are cheaper on sites like Amazon once you find the one you want.

uh why is that in the sports and outdoors category? People who watch Doctor Who enjoy neither.

I tried to find the watch I have to link for you before but can't find an image online anywhere. It's an Invicta I got a couple years ago with a thin white face and black strap like yours, very plain though compared to yours.

Doh, just looked through my Amazon order history, that was easy

Amazon.com: Invicta Men's 5141 Slim Collection Round Black Leather Watch: Invicta: Watches

Not for sale anymore that I could find, but its a nice watch and gets plenty of compliments.

edit: one of the recommend watches on that page is sweet too, think I just found my next watch when I am ready for a replacement http://www.6pm.com/product/7747321/color/274351

That's pretty beautiful. I'm more of a full-on numbers man myself, but that's definitely an easy and nice around-the-towner.

    Or retail.
TOGS could always ask the customers what time it is when they queue up at his register.

Regardless of what it is I do, from what I understand a phone or pda is not allowed in many work areas... irrespective of our reasons why.

    I carry 2 cell phones. I wear a watch.

    Scenario 1:

Pull out phone. Click button. Realize you have a text. Answer text. Put phone in pocket. Oh wait what time is it? Pull out phone. Click button. An email. Read. Phone in pocket. Oh wait. Pull phone out. Click button. Check time.

    Scenario 2:

    Look at watch.

Way too many steps in scenario 1.

Actually that's the exact same problem I have too. 2 phones is a bitch let alone just fumbling with them to get the time.

I didn't see a "newbies post here" thread or anything but just wanted to say hi and let you know I found this board (this thread actually, then checked out the rest of the board) from a google search. Seemed like a neat place so here I am!

I have this same problem. I'll fiddle around with my phone, and then I'll remember I was looking for the time. Having a watch is so much easier. Have a nice watch for luxury, a simple fashion watch, and a sports watch for working out.

It is a negro watch, it was not a serious suggestion.

Actually, I was on the metro a few weeks back and this well-dressed black man was wearing an incredible large-faced watch that I was sorta envious of. It was more of a going-out watch than a status one but it was beautiful nonetheless.
