I was raised a Catholic in a time where the country I live in was dominated by Catholic culture. I made my first Holy Communion, and Confirmation and soon after that my family stopped going to mass.
I never really believed in Catholicism; my parents, family and teachers told me that it was true so I took that as fact.

When I reached the age of about 13 I realised how stupid (in my opinion) the religion truly was, and so I stopped believing in Jesus. As for God, I 'm not really sure about that. I personally do not believe that science has convinced me of how the universe was created, and because of that I now think that it seems more believable that everything we sound us has some sort of divine thought within it.
That being said, I do not believe in any hocus pocus right now. If you pray, it comforts you, it helps you, but that's all it is. Prayer to me is simply a drug that numbs the fact that you have to do X tomorrow.
If anyone were to ask me what I am now, I guess I would call myself an agnostic.

I've found more and more as I grow up that the Baha'is I grew up adoring are not immune to the fundamentalism and religious-closedmindedness that I thought they were. A lot of them, especially in the youth culture, are just as bad as Christian youth groups, but I guess believing that you follow the one true message of God lends a sense of entitlement. The main reason I didn't become a Baha'i had little to do with my own lack of faith and more to do with: "Man, what kind of people am I signing up with?"

Don't get me wrong, my first steps after that were a continual state of drug use for a good 6 years, which I'm now ending and cutting all contacts that I'd made in that time, so it's not like I found the truth or a better way. But I have found people that I enjoy the company of now, mostly because they aren't high-minded and pious about everything. There's something about that mindset that's like one big social circlejerk and I can't stand it.

I was born christian I never cared for church and only went once every other sunday when i was with my dads. I only liked going to play kickball or the special events with food and games. My friend's church would have sleepovers with video games and shit and id just go along with him to those and daydream while they preach or whatever,

I was getting concerned that no one was going to say anything about it.

I was rasied in an agnostic house. My dad's side of the family is Catholic and my mom's side are Christian but my parents never put a religion on me, so I just grew up not caring. Currently I'm kind of on the borderline between agnostic and atheistic, I can't really believe that there is a god, but then again it wouldn't really surprise me if there was. To be honest, I just really don't care. The past 5 years I've had the opportunity to examine my faith and look at what I wanted to believe in, but instead I just built up a mind of misanthropy and apathy.

I was raised Methodist but thought church was stupid when at 3 years old I was asking questions the pastor couldn't answer other than "God works in mysterious ways" and such.

I was raised Christian, while attending mass when I was young until 12. While I was very young, the bible used to be my bed time stories. As I grew up I lost my belief as I slowly learned the scope of the world and the many religions within it.

When I looked at the bigger picture from a different angle, realizing that if I had been raised with the Qu'ran I would be a Muslim, etc. for the many different religious books. I saw it didn't make much sense. After being half way through my bachelors in biology/geology I became a true atheist since few of it made sense to me.

Just pointing out that it's Catholics that call it mass.

While Catholicism is "technically" a Christian denomination, the word "Christian" is normally associated with denominations like Baptists, Methodists, non-denominational churches, etc....but not Catholicism anymore.
I hear the voices inside my head. They counsel me. They understand. They talk to me.

BS. Only Protestants think that way because they want to portray Catholics as not being Christian. Most people in the world would consider Catholicism to be another sect of Christianity.

Do you believe that the primary means to get to God is through Jesus Christ?

    Congratulations, you are a Christian.

also pepsi further demonstrates his ignorance by making this claim, which is false. but since you are french, then your parents probably were catholics (but how can you not know what denomination your parents are...?)

Because we tend not to talk about it, its like I'm some sort of disease in the family or a retard. Its '' Ok, we know your an atheist, just don't wave it around the family...'' Also, I'm not interested in knowing the details.

Its hilarious since you go in town and you have a corner called Church. There are three churches there, an Anglican church (whatever that is) a protestant church and a Catholic church. Can't they all get along? This division of a same base religion is ridiculous while they accept and reject certain points of the same book.

it's hard for me to take it when pepsi passes of all the misinformation and propaganda that he's been spoon-fed as fact.

in all honesty, it's the people you're closest to that you are most likely going to get into conflicts with. my dad says that he'd rather people be hindus than protestants, for example.
