Ive never actually thought of it that way, but it is. In the center of town there are niggers everywhere, but drive about 6 miles and you are in butt fuck egypt and there isnt a single black person around, just drunk rednecks with guns.
I visit my grandparents in Tallulah, LA from time to time. If you go to the west part of town, oh god.

I saw someone said that a pistol would be better than this unless you want to shoot a slug or something.
I currently have a .22 pistol, a 9 MM, a .40 S&W, and a 1911 Colt .45.
The M4 shoots .223. The bullet is as small as a .22 bullet, except it has alot of power behind it. So its very small.
And this is a hunting rifle. Bushmaster and Ruger makes one with a different forearm for hunting, and I plan on taking a deer with this gun.
I mean, in all honesty, if someone was in my house, Id grab my 1911 .45.
The main reason I got this is because its accurate as fuck, looks sweet, and is very intimidating. Ask any gun enthusiast, if you arent a gun guy, you wouldnt know.
I would think you would, given that you probably aren't interested in shooting slugs into your possessions.
And I suppose you're right, tat I'll never understand why anyone would want to sink money into an expensive a weapon that has much more power than you could ever possibly need. If this were a hunting rifle, I could understand. But an assault weapon??
