The end of the old world and the old ways of life
look at the evolution of man through the perspective of a child being raised
it goes through infancy, childhood, puberty, adolescence, young adulthood, maturity, middle-age, old age and, eventually, death
but when one is a child, the world is seen one way and is in fact one way, but when you reach successive stages of maturity, the old world that you saw is no longer the world you live in, and the further down the road you go, the more the worlds you lived in previously, both your own perspective and the world as it actually was, ends.
