I haven't seen it, but it seems more likely that he was trying to make them look scary by showing that they WANT the world to end. Possible?

but if you haven't seen religulous, i recommend that you do. it's a pretty funny and well-made movie.

A lot of them also agreed that if the world ended due to some kind of nuclear holocaust they could believe it was gods will. That is scary.
