When the Circuit City here closed four years ago, the only things on sale were display models.

Well now they're liquidating their entire stock. They don't want to send it back to the manufacturers. As the stores get closer and closer to closing, prices will go down. They will keep the stores open until said stock is sold.
I hear the voices inside my head. They counsel me. They understand. They talk to me.

If the store closing sales from a month ago are any indication everything that is sharply discounted will be sold out in a matter of hours. Everything else will be marked down 10-30% but still be hardly less expensive than an average sale at another retailer. Still, people will buy the stuff with their perceived bargain prices. My brother told me Richmond-area stores were madhouses yesterday. As for the discounts, here is a story that says it all.

    I can see your point.

I guess with them keeping the Canadian stores open, selling their entire US stock and the buildings/lots will give them money to keep those open.
