Oh my god.... how is it humanly possible to be THAT disgusting! And I thought I was a bit of a slob when I left my towel on the bathroom floor.

That's terrible. I _AM_ a bit of a slob (soda cans on my desk, etc.) and I've seen some houses trashed on the show "Verminators", but this is fucking insane.

Oh. My. God. That bathroom. I could honestly vomit just from the pictures. Imagine the stench of that place.

Oh yeah. I saw some kind of special about people with this kind of disorder. It's called Compulsive Hoarding and it is related to Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder.

one of my housemates room looks like that occasionally.

That's not compulsive hoarding. I knew a guy who had that, and his house was nothing like that, there were just boxes and papers everywhere.

Using the arm of a chair, and a table as an ashtray because your ashtray is too full?

The litterbox hadn't been cleaned in forever.

When I did home end user tech service there were a few places that were bad, not nearly as bad as this in terms of TRASH, but there was barely even a path to get from room to room.

Well, I mean there are obviously different degrees of the disorder. Most people just hoard selective things such as newspapers and magazines. Only a few people never throw anything out.

I remember seeing a thread on some other forum where a person told about his/her mom who had this disorder. The thread had tons of pictures of the house and it was full of junk, but I don't think the mother collected cigarettes or trash.
