If you take offense to the term "breeder" for someone who is breeding and selling dogs, then by all means, educate us mere simpletons about proper nomenclature. Otherwise, quite whining about semantics. Or, at least quit contradicting yourself.

Anyone who cares about these dogs should try to save a homeless pit bull before adding more dogs to a completely saturated market.

This is a plea to those of you thinking about breeding pit bulls - please take a look at our database of homeless dogs and think again...

Yeah, that's probably it. But do me a favor - volunteer at a pound for a day or two per week for 6 months. For the record, I didn't honestly mean that shelters are full of half bred retarded mutts. As a matter of fact, and I've mentioned her in other threads, the dog I had before I got Julie was a German Shepherd I adopted from a shelter when I was in middle school, and I had her up until I went to college. She was hit by a truck, and basically died in my arms.

I've been tired, sick, stressed, and in a foul mood recently, so yeah, I'm probably self-righteous. I also happen to be right. Nothing you have said has contradicted the facts I posted - there are thousands of unwanted pit bulls (including puppies) and other dogs available all over the US, and most of them will die for want of a home. Rather than give homes to some of them, you created more. I realize that what's done is done - all you can do now is provide them with the best care you can, until they die (hopefully of old age). That doesn't mean I have to like it, or that I can't call you on it on an internet forum.

Awesome - I'm glad you rescued a GS. I just wish you had chosen to rescue pit bulls as well.

My girlfriend runs a small animal rescue and sanctuary, so we have about 20 animals in the house. Some might be adopted out, but most have special needs or are very old, and will be with us until the die. Officially, I've adopted two of them myself, but there's not much practical difference between the cage that has my animals in it, and the cages that have the sanctuary animals in them.


Edit: They're all animals who were dumped by their previous owners for various dubious reasons.
