It's a pretty addicting game, I think...
You have to try to infect and kill the entire world with a disease that you create and evolve. It's enjoyable, takes a while to start.

Too luck driven. You're basically praying your shit makes it over to the islands before air travel is cut off -- I haven't figured out a way to reliably do this.
I've done it once, but the vaccine worked so I lost.
Make it less visible...
The best I've ever done on this was every country but Madagascar... A couple times. Fuck only having one means of import/export/transportation.
I somehow managed to have this virus that has NO SYMPTOMS and NO VISIBILITY start spreading like wildfire, and then all of the places started doing the normal stuff, shutting down schools, closing borders, which pissed me off, if there are 0 symptoms and the visibility is at 0, then they would not start shutting everything down, because no one would know they had it.
My plan was to get it on every island and continent then buy all the deadly symptoms to kill them off.
venezuela
I beat it last night; parasite, no symptoms, heavy drug resistance, all modes of infection, then buying resistance to all environments as the points rolled in. When all countries were infected, I just bought all the symptoms on the first tier.
The game's ok, but more depth and less luck would've been nice. It is a really good concept that deserves better realisation.
the game's not realistic, you start with a symptom, but you can sell it for "evolution points", let your virus go unnoticed, and then when you buy deadly symptoms, suddenly everyone's got the new strain.
Right, I know. It was more of a rhetorical question.
Alternatively, I also got this answer:
Pandemic 04-16-2009 07:48 PM by negareping the bastards
I guess that works too, but it's a little unsporting
I don't want to point fingers but I blame absolution
I beat it!
I am now content with life
God found Pandemic II using stumble and is now playing irl
that must be the only possible way to win
I just started out in china and I was like Sweet, 3 bordering countries, airport and shipyard... not a bad place to start
then madagascar shuts shipyards because a couple of hundred thousand people have a fever
I've never understood the relevance of that picture until now
I just beat it with Brazil as my starting point.
All I needed to do is buy all of the resistance, transmissions, and fever.
Then, after it was all spread and done, I bought all the symptoms from the first two tiers.
protip: open new game, put it on highest speed possible, minimize browser for a while, come back when you feel like it and wreak havoc.
Starting in any country with two ports is the best way to get Madagascar infected fast. I started in South Africa one game, and for some reason I never saw a boat go into Madagascar, but it spread there. Which makes me wonder if Africans are just swimming across the ocean
I love imagining how my disease progresses. A simple cough, then all of a sudden sores, and then insanity with dementia. I keep hoping that it'll cause a zombie apocalypse
Right now I have everything except Australia and Western Europe. But I think they shut everything down. So Ill just kill off everyone else.
I find it works better if you dont buy ANY symptoms or very few then once it spreads alot, then start buying them to make it more lethal.
