Anyone got any suggestions for where I should go on my honeymoon? Keep that shit in the lower 48.

Sandals resorts are all-inclusive and are pretty much awesome. We went to Sandals in Antigua (Caribbean) and it was not that expensive. Prices are even cheaper now in this economy if you book ahead. They know how to take care of you and provide excellent relaxation and service. It includes all the food, top-shelf booze, etc. The ONLY thing you'd have to pay for would be if you wanted anything from the gift store, purchasing photos, or doing a 3rd party tour/cruise/outing/etc or out-of-the-ordinary room service (you get one free breakfast in bed). All the booze you can drink, food (including several nice restaurant meals), watersports, etc are all included in the price. It is pretty much awesome to have a fridge in your room stocked with beer/wine/vodka/etc that you can take to the hot tub at 2AM if you want and no one gives a shit as long as you aren't causing an upset to other guests. I think it was like $1800 for the two of us for a week in Antigua including airfare. It's even cheaper now. (photos from Sandals in Antigua: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluedek...7607966098494/ )
Yeah, but how much are the hats?
But I made it today for one of your photos from the UK or where ever you went...
Happy now?
If I knew you were going to give such a bad answer I wouldnt have changed it.
Yes I saw the lower 48 thing, but you can book a trip to a Sandals resort for the same price as a nice domestic trip. Book it like 4 months in advance and it really is comparable.
My wife is a teacher so we are limited to when we can leave for it. Anytime from here to the beginning of August is pretty much it.
I live in Louisiana, so going to Austin isnt that exciting for us, we are looking for something new. The Keys sound nice, but Im tried of fucking around with hurricanes. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
Check out Pigeon Forge outside of Knoxville, TN. Rent a chalet for the week, check out all the tourist traps, quaint stores, Dollywood, etc.
Well yeah I know that, I grew up in that part of the state. It can still be romantic for cheap in the "lower 48" though.
Actually scratch all of that, if you want cheap in the lower 48, go to Sanibel Island (I misspelled it I know, it's in Florida) or Nag's Head in North Carolina. They're fun places for cheap.
I still say Sandles though, the other places you have to do all the legwork and pay for everything - at Sandals you pay one price and everything is taken care of.
There are beautiful resorts all over the place. Find a local, secluded resort within a few hours drive of your wedding. This could cut your honeymoon cost in half since airline costs are extraordinary. This will also allow you to save money but enjoy the luxury of a 4 or 5 star resort. Your location, the time of year and your preferred honeymoon will all need to be taken into account. Or, pick a beautiful, dream location within a few hours flight of your wedding. If you want a tropical honeymoon, choose a destination that is a 4 – 6 hour flight instead of 10+ hours. I personally like The Keys having lived in Florida before but I understand about the whole hurricane thing.
Las Vegas?
Stereotypical but fun. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Plus you don't have to stay at one of the huge expensive hotels to still enjoy yourself. I stayed at the Flamingo which was one of the cheaper ones and it is right on the strip. I enjoyed way more than the time we stayed at the MGM Grand. http://www.flamingolasvegas.com
Plus there are a lot of websites you can go to where you can find deals going on, like vegas.com
Des Moines, Iowa
This would be way easier and way more helpful if you could tell us the kind of honeymoon you and your soon-to-be wife want. Like, do you want to be going out and hitting bars? Sitting on a beach? Tourist trap? Nature oriented?
i think if the fella knew what type of honeymoon he wanted he probably wouldnt be asking for ideas for honeymoons
maybe idk
ps honeymoons are gay because of their close association with marriage
Not what I meant. My point was asking them about the kind of stuff they wanna do for their honeymoon. Some people drink.
Now, unless it really isn't your thing, my vote would be to go to Islamorada or Key Largo and either relax and check out the culture, snorkel, check out Key West and such, or if you're up for it, find a dive charter and go scuba diving. It's a really amazing experience.
Somewhere you can have sex every day/night, cause thats what youll be doing. But there should be other stuff to do there too, my fiance and I are going to Gatlinburg, TN to stay in a cabin for a week. They have horseback riding, swimming, all kinds of stuff.
I won't have sex with my wife until we go through one year of marriage, I want to make sure she is the right one.
