Djwolford is against pot cause he sees it as something that makes everyone lazy. Which is about 95% true.

I think it'd lower all other drug "problems" in the US

I don't think that it makes everyone lazy, I think that it makes a vast majority of people that smoke it lazy and much less intelligent while they're on the drug. That's really not something that we need to be widespead in this country at this time because most people are lazy and unintelligent enough already.

Not all people who smoke pot are lazy. Some of your favorite songs were written by people under the influence of marijuana. Oh yeah and that guy who drives you to school every morning in the yellow bus? He's on it too.

I honestly think that use would go down if it were legal... or remain the same. I mean alcohol prohibition did nothing to stop the consumption, and place millions of dollars into Organized Crime's hands. If you take weed away from (insert name of your favorite gang) then there are less dollars to put weapons in there hands.

Cocaine may make a lot of money, but there are tons more people who like to smoke weed. Weed makes the criminal world go round, and without it they'd have an even smaller stake to claim.

Though it's just a random entry out of my diary, for some reason I thought it might be of interest.

The least we could do is Schedule it down to Schedule 2 or 3 and make it medicinally legal in all states(I can name a large number of diseases and mental illnesses it helps just like the rest of you)

So you'd advocate the legalization of the far more harmful drugs that you do while people lose their scholarships and get kicked out of college just for recreational pot use?

And along these same lines, would you also advocate the criminalization of alcohol?

There was a text with this going around my town like 3 months ago.

Our first president, Mr. Washington, had fields of the shit! Productive people smoke weed, just as lazy people do. Killers smoke weed, and so do social workers. Fat asses smoke weed, as well as athletes. ALL types of people smoke weed, so I feel its unfair to try to associate weed with one particular stereotype. Feel me?

I don't smoke anymore. All I'm going to say is that if pot was medicinally legalized, I could for sure pick that shit up immediately. They medicinally use it for chronic (lolz) pain and arthritis.

I'm guessing that you'll see a lot of ex-smokers who will start back if it's legalized, and a lot of people that will start using it if it's no long illegal. Of course that's all speculation there.

I wouldn't force my bigotry on anyone, because it's not my call to make. If a majority of people went to the polls right now and voted to legalize marijuana, then it should be legalized imo. Just because I'm not for it doesn't mean that I'm trying to force anything on anyone.

...well you're talking in terms of 'legalising' or not, rather than 'I personally don't think it's a good idea' or 'I'd try to persuade people otherwise'.

This to me implies that you're interested in your views being somewhat reflected by law rather than seeing it as an 'each to his own, but not for me' thing.

Well at the moment it is an issue of legalization, and I would vote based on my personal opinion on the matter. Overall I think it's a bad idea, although it doesn't have negative effects on some people, and even has positive effects on others.

For the record I think we would be better off as a society if alcohol was more strictly regulated.

So you've discovered yourself that weed is more or less relevant depending on the person... doesn't the imply that it ought to be legal and people should decide for themselves what to do?

Rather than people like you voting for your own personal preference and wanting it reflected in law, I mean. To me that is 'forcing bigotry'.

Yeah, I think it'd be excellent if several aspects of my life were controlled by the state.

I'd love to be told what I can or can't do. Making my own decisions is such a hassle.

If the state is controlled by the voice of the general population then yes it's a good idea.

On a side note I'm not too much for the federal laws against marijuana, I think that it should be a state's rights issue, and then allow cities and towns to decide much like they do with alcohol.

Well that is the silliest shit that I've ever heard since it would never happen, but yes. What constitutes good or mad morals has always been decided by the general population in an area so I don't see any reason to change the way nature has worked since the dawn of time now.

Although I'd probably move to another location because that's just not cool imo.

It's not silly at all. Cannabis use is a victimless crime as it stands, whereas rape is not, which is the clear line between what ought to be illegal (protecting freedoms) and what ought not to be covered (what a person does to him or herself). But apparently you're adding a 3rd party, which is 'whatever the majority says goes'. Here's a newsflash: bowing to the wishes of the majority if it means discriminating against a minority is something people have been fighting against since the enlightenment. It's shitty views like yours which gave us such awesomeness as the holocaust, slavery, general racism, and religious persecution.

You'd have to demonstrate why, somehow, cannabis is a special case in order for you to actually believe that 51% of people should be able to tell 49% what they put in their own bodies (or even 99% and 1%, it doesn't matter).
