    This should be everyone's view. Unfortunately the US government(along with too many Americans) don't seem to like allowing people their constitutional rights when it isn't convenient for them.

    Well grandstanding on a moral high horse is a good way to win votes, so I can't entirely blame them for that, even if I dislike the actual results. This sounds like I support what they do (I don't), but I'm pretty sure it won't change at least until a new generation of politicians takes office, and even then...

    It isn't a moral high horse though, that's the fucked up part. Nearly every bit of pot propaganda has historically been a downright lie. It is hypocritical and immoral to deny people the freedom to smoke pot if they want to. Or deny them to use any substance really. Thankfully the pot movement has some serious legs at this point and I can't see it doing anything but progressing from this point on. With so many states with medical legal, many more that have bills and California pushing for legalization I don't see how we won't have federal legalization in any more than 15 years and I think that is a pretty conservative estimate if we keep moving at this pace.
