These are all issues of class. Congratulations asshole, you live in a place where the poverty is centred around ethnic minorities. Crime of this sort is always centred around the poorer parts of a community. Perhaps not worded like that but yes, black culture has offered more to today's music than literally anything else. If you really think it wouldn't be a great loss then go throw away ALL of your music made post 1930 (assuming any pre-30s music isn't already blues/jazz).

In 100-200 years time "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" or "The Colour Purple" or "Beloved" or "Roots: The Saga of an American Family" will stand up to any of the other 'classics' of literature we already have. They're just relatively new and modern and so are looked upon differently. But dismissing the contributions of entire cultures because it doesn't fit into some traditionalist hoity toity view of what art should be makes you a cunt.

African culture gave jazz and the blues which was the result of much of the soul music/hymns of American slavery. I mean, inherently, you can say jazz and blues re-shaped music - a shot of reality to the lyrics, simplified and less harmonic than their musical predecessors, but primarily modern music was shaped by The Beatles and Pink Floyd. They provided the standard musical setup of instruments and had a song that could of virtually influenced any modern genre during their careers.
