Well I mean I have a veritable laundry list of reasons why I'm not mafia, and you would say that it's too convenient no matter when or if it happened which is why I regret you telling me unasked for. But then hopefully you're right and shitface is the right one, so it won't matter.

Not really. Once the sheriff is dead, the nurse is only useful if he blocks a kill. If the nurse suspects he knows the target, it makes sense to try to protect that person and buy time. Otherwise, the nurse protecting himself is useless if no one knows his identity.

The more I think about it, the more I think there is pretty much only 1 way a mafia could virtually guarantee victory for themselves. It would require a few coincidence, but aside from that, it's entirely feasible.
1. Find out who the nurse is and have them protect you.
2. Vote to kill yourself.
3. Reveal to everyone that you were the target the next day and thus MUST of course be innocent(!)
4. Reveal to a number of others who the nurse is, thus making them the suspects if the nurse dies
5. Tell then nurse to continue protecting you, instead of themseles, then kill the nurse which also proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are innocent and removes them from play later in the game.
It's a diabolical plan, but you are very friendly with sponge and I have no doubts he would have taken the risk to tell you he was the nurse of his own initiative. Plus that would allow you to bandwagon the lynch I initiated again Coquavin, and to even start the lynch against the other likely suspect Snead without hesitation, because while they would be helpful, in your unimpeachable position, you ultimately don't need them.
Again, you know I'm not mafia yet next round you plan on trying to lead a lynch against me. Previously, you were happy as long as I was singing your praises, but now I need to go, despite having shown my innocence. I spotted and started the lynched against Coq. I was the one who made Snead a suspect when no-one was even looking at him. I vouchsafed for you. It doesn't make sense for you to put my name up for lynching next unless you are mafia.

Frankly, I can not bring myself to believe it is Well Adjusted, because voting for you after we had already made 2 votes against Shitface would be like waving a red-flag saying "hello avon mafia-lady calling!". Ok I'm satisfied with that and I was really more hunting to see if there was any reason to suspect anyone else. E.g. KT tells Sponge she is the Sheriff, Sponge tells you, you tell Shitface, Zuelan or Well Adjusted.
Out of everyone left, both Well Adjusted and Shitface didn't vote for a mafia ever. So either I suppose is a good choice, but I'm not voting for Well Adjusted. I just can't accept that it's her and I think you guys should consider changing your vote back to Shitface as well.

Lynching scyld on Day 1 was bad: After the first game he knew it'd be a good idea to not attract attention to himself if he were a Shit, and there was no reason for him not to try again. It's better to keep disinterested Brits alive than to lynch them obviously.

I knew I wasn't going to outsmart him on strategy, so instead I remembered Machiavelli's admonition that friends can be unreliable, but an enemy you can always trust to behave like an enemy. Most of you thought I was just crazy rather than malevolent. Although I confess my initial attack on Simonj, aimed at improving the odds for Coq who was facing a 2 way split vote, was rushed, poorly done and probably unnecessary.
By the way KT, your unexplained vote for Coqauvin on the 2nd day gave you away as the Sheriff, as Mutton can confirm. At that point I knew I had kill the Sheriff or risk being exposed...a simple read through of the thread from the beginning made it pretty obvious that you investigated Coqauvin the very first night (as one might expect)

voting town is always a bad idea, and sycld wasn't playing anything like he was in the last game.
I wasn't a big fan of the hard deadline and lack of a majority vote as a mechanic in this game. It kind of forces any conversation and mafia hunting out the window and just hope the random votes hit the right people unless mafia are dumb enough to out themselves through bad play.
Atmosfear, I was surprised that you trusted MrShrike enough to give him the Nurse's identity. Actually, I was surprised that, in a field of 9~ players, you gave the identity away to almost half of them. A better play would've been using different names for each player you gave it to with only one obvious townie getting the real one. When that player dies randomly in the night, you'll have a better time of narrowing down who it is.

That's why I'm using QuickTopic for the Mafia in my upcoming game and forbidding private messaging. I used to think it added a layer of intrigue, but it's mostly just who can buddy up and lie convincingly in private, 1 on 1. Mafia, to me, is more about lying publically and getting away with it, or convincing people publically, rather than 1 on 1, where it's much easier to sway or voice a discussion and let little things slide without realizing it.

In the interest of improving the overall level of play, I'll break down the last day for you. You didn't need much context to show that mrshrike was mafia, but shithead being a complete faggot still gave us no better than 50-50 odds of winning since it wouldve tied the last vote.
The mistake he made was in protesting when I threatened him after ShitFace. He was clearly protesting because he knew the outcome of the lynch. At the time, this made him far more suspicious than ShitFace, who was no more or less oblivious than usual. Then mrshrike made a nonsensical rant about wishing I hadn't told him about sponge so he wouldn't be suspicious, and that it was a frame. The truth is that every town is trying to find as much information as possible. Knowledge is NEVER a liability, unless it is disinformation. Once I was killed (which was a stupid play) and it was confirmed beyond even unreasonable doubt that I was town, it just further proved that I couldn't have been trying to setup an innocent town.
If you look back, youll see all throughout the game, mrshrike committed other rookie mistakes. He lynches without motive and lynched back his accusers (compare to me asking the people who accuse me why they've done so to gain info, or just ignoring them.)
And coq, the reason I didn't give out false information to squeeze more directly is that no one would trust it even if it worked. It's better to act in confirmable fashion when you aren't posting publicly, because the longer the game lasts, the more innocent you prove to be. And, for what it's worth, at the time I suspected mrshrike was a dumb town and shitface was a silent mafia. When Snead proved mafia, I wasn't as worried about shitface and mrshrike kept slipping more and more.
That's also why I didn't bother lynching shitface the second-last day.

But I think I played the psychological aspect pretty well, even if I failed a bit on the game logic and made a few elemental slip ups. With so many other rookies, they weren't fatal errors as it turns out.

You even overlooked that the fact that the day after you attacked me directly and were ready to lead a full vote because of my simonj vote, the mafia tried to nightkill you (unsuccessfully). Although I admit there was a bit of wine in front of me logic to that move (too obvious!) that might have saved me anyway. At the end even when you say were pretty sure it was me, you just didn't have any kudos with the other players anyway and that was your downfall.

Given that you suggested earlier that my attack was a mistake that made it blindingly obvious that I was the last mafia, then why didn't you try to get the town to vote for me?
Answer: Either you didn't have their confidence in a vote against me, or you yourself weren't convinced I was mafia.
The best thing is, your death didn't confirm anything. You had already done all the hard work exonerating me earlier in the game. Zuelan said as much above. The fact that you yourself had declared me fucking crazy but innocent made me bulletproof. I could say virtually anything (to justify a vote against you for instance) and they would just think I was being wacky again. I'm pretty sure even you believed I was just nuts.

MrShrike here is the trick of the game... the more you keep someone talking, the more they slip up. Lynching isn't the town's only weapon. Any casual observer who followed the entire game and had even the faintest idea about this concept would have seen everything I pointed out. You have a shocking lack of objectivity, and seek only data to fit your theory (that you are the best/smartest/outplayed everyone/did it yourself/etc)
I probably should have just hammered you, but I haven't had internet for a while (thanks, neighbors) and I've been playing from a phone screen, making it difficult to deal with your blathering, and frankly I didn't know it was possible to miss it once we cleared WellAdjusted.
What it really comes down to is that we basically got a freebie on coqauvin, and then wound up with ShitFace screwing us by not even protesting (which is fitting, since he was an afk faggot that I'm probably still going to ban spitefully later.) Zuelan had all the information available to figure it out, he just didn't know what to look for.
Terrible newbie mafia probably ought to beat terrible newbie town 9 times out of 10.
I already acknowledged that I am newbie, that I made a host of simple mistakes and that I owed the victory to both my own team and to useless town players handicapping the town. Although effectively, given the game result, I did outplay everyone, ultimately all the tactics I used only worked because of my actual thesis: You are a terrible player.
And the more excuses you make, the more it just makes you look sore about it. Which is why you want to vote me out on the first round of this game, so I don't make you look like an idiot again. Which is fine if thats what everyone decides. But in the meantime I am enjoying rubbing it in immensely right now.
