Anyone ever spend some time in Dublin, Ireland?

So in a matter of days I'll be moving to Dublin, Ireland for a semester. I don't know much about the city, or the country for that matter. Has anyone ever spent some time there? Any tips? What's your favorite pub, restaurant, etc? Thanks

I have indeed spent some time in Dublin. It is a great place and a fine example of the diversity of European culture. I have only spent a few days there and thus my main advice would be to take as much money as you can. It costs roughly $8 for a beer. Think and Sailor Jack recently spent some time there and probably have more to say on the matter.

Go to temple bar for pubs and restaurants
"3 crown alley" has the most awesome steak and is pretty well priced on both the food and drink front (for Dublin, that is..)

Go to 3 crown alley, then roll out of it to The Quays Inn (where me and Think were miraculously given free beer), then go to The Temple Bar in Temple Bar to photobomb some tourists trying to take the same picture of the place that is now a poster on my wall. Also go to all of these places: All the pubs (ALL OF THEM!), Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery

Trinity College is ancient and pretty darn cool
University College is a bit more modern
The American College is in Oscar Wildes House
The College of Sailor Jack has lectures and Seminars every night at the Quays Inn, just next to the bar

Studying at DIT on Kevin Street.

I did the tour of Guinness, Jameson, and Trinity. All very awesome. Hit up the Temple bar last week and got a lot of free drinks and got pretty shit faced. Seven days straight of drinking took a large toll on my wallet.
