why would Simonj vote to lynch VS yesterday? I understand that sometimes Zombies vote for other zombies but VS could have easily been lynched yesterday....

yeah, I'm sorry about the whole VS thing, I got fixated on a woofness/simonj axis of evil very early and a townie blocker VS who proved yours and my innocence to each other just fit so well into that worldview.
Fortunately you went after VS with zest and I have dogged simonj, so between us we got it exactly right last night
I suspect, by the way, that VS did block atmosfear first night, but as a zombie blocking a strong town player (he was revealed to be a young lady)
therefore all the simonj/woofness must be lying stuff follows and woofness was not as it turns out
But you'll see. I'm super confident we've won now.

I understand this game is over. Yes, the zombies were me and VS. We voted to kill me last night thinking that one of you would have chosen to switch with me. KT clearly saw through this plan so well done to her. I obviously now regret not having VS roleblock her but the odds were against that working.
I voted to lynch VS yesterday thinking that if he got lynched I would have virtually proved my innocence, could (hopefully) kill off another town member at night and then probably get woofness lynched the next day. It wasn't a plan I was totally happy with so I'm glad woofness was the one who got lynched in the end.
Also this was a fucking good game.

There were only 2 roles in this game. The switcher (sometimes called bus driver, I first heard it as anarchist) and a Roleblocker (flavoured into a whore).
I gave everyone different names and role PMs because I didn't want the structure to be revealed too early. Maybe things would've been different if everyone claimed the same role with the same name, but what's done is done, I guess?
I resolved night actions by the order I received them, and used a slot format to figure out the more complicated ones. The idea of switching players is really switching player slots for targetting, and I'm being transparent about it because I don't want people to think I rigged the game, or, if I made a mistake, I'll correct it.
Well played, town. KT. really surprised me by how spot on she was with who was mafia after a random vote. Good job!

So here was my complaint with the mechanic--and I knew this happened--you've ignored two switches by letting me die. Anything that results in a paradoxical loop should have been blocked, but Woofness should have died the first night.
And simonj is delightfully transparent
Also, given what we knew the first night, I'm surprised everyone didn't just switch themselves.

Switching is done in the order submitted.
KT. swaps you and woofness. Think swaps you and woofness. they cancel each other out. Your switch was then blocked by VS. At this point, woofness swaps you and KT.
Since KT. was the original target for the night kill, you died. If you had been the target, KT. would've died.
I'll even explain it further for you.
KT. switches you and woofness. Now, anything that targets you instead targets woofness and vice versa. Think then swaps you and woofness. it's a double negative, so anything that targets you then targets woofness which then targets you. And vice versa. An easier way to explain it is that those actions cancel each other out.

Yeah you did mention it going vice versa. That's a pretty big difference in the power.
(it wouldnt have affected my play obviously since it got blocked, but yeah)
