most concise think-post i've ever seen
votecount tomorrow morning, i'm going out tonight

Did I really?
Damn it. No wonder I suck at poker.
lynch mutton for being a jerkface
disarmingly eloquent and amusingly patronising no doubt but not quite right..
this time we are voting for the person we would least like to not unsee again.
This setup has essentially nothing in common as far as tells go with the others. we need to find a king who is ignorant of everyone else's role.. so those who seem suspicious are likely to be the guards and need to be kept alive in the hope their attempts to hide the king give him away. you might have alighted to that somewhere. so yes:
but no, its is in our interest to discover he whom others have an unwillingness to vote forQuote:

Not Voting: sycld
With 12 alive, it is 7 to get a bitch dead
sycld is the only one not voting according to your count
sorry, I completely missed that
just make some minor concession to our baiting and suggest some other arbitrary target and most of us will go with it because it is in our interest to discern who is not willing to vote for whom
Also, this would be far more informative if all the antagonistic players knew each others' identities. Unfortunately they only know the identity of one player--the king--and they cannot coordinate their actions with each other.
But... I suppose we have nothing else to work on.
/lynch KT... she quite clearly is the King's young lady.
kill sycld, only a guard or the king himself would be intimate enough to the dealings of the king to know who his young lady is
oh and unkill whoever
let's get some pressure building on a player by joining a bandwagon.
unvote Think
vote Mutton
(let's be honest, I'm kinda unsure about how strategize since this game is so unlike the others. Does putting pressure on a player really work since the minority (the Guards and King) aren't exactly informed?)
Pressuring is still the weapon of choice... all the more that there is no night-phase kill.
The difference is that the tells have changed... and that voting record is not as reliable since the guards are only slightly less likely to kill each other, since they may be able to infer who other guards are, given that players may act similarly when they know the identity of the king.
I'm starting to suspect that Think is the King.
this is an odd thing to say
the mafiasos know one other mafiaso (plus more), and the rebels know the king - this is an obvious common fact that can lead to the same types of tells
it seems an unlikely scenario to purposely keep a guard alive, which sustains their power to vote and deceive
if you think someone is a guard and point it out, they will act differently
if you don't point it out, the others won't be convinced
explain
Don't you mean the guards know the king? Anyway, I don't think the setup of this game can necessarily lead to the same types of tells.
First off in regular mafia, the mafia pretty much know the full setup. They know who is mafia and who is town. With this knowledge the mafia can strategically coordinate their moves. At the very least the mafia knows the identities of their enemies, the townies.
While the guards in this setup do know more than the rebels, they are still basically in the dark. The guards have no way to coordinate their moves simply for the fact that they do not know who their allies are. The only ally they do know is the King, but the King doesn't know who the guards are. In this game, to the guards everyone is a potential enemy except the King. As far as the King goes, he is in the same position as the rebels, everyone is a potential enemy.
As Woofness pointed out "its is in our interest to discover he whom others have an unwillingness to vote for". I think this should be our primary concern, because I feel that focusing on traditional scum tells may not work in this set up.
You made that post while I was still writing mine. Sheesh.
quite right, colour me chastened and contrite
well i have an unwillingness to vote for sponge ever because coq would be crazy to post #12 if sponge were king/guard - i don't get how no one else has commented on this
The only benefit in killing a guard might be after everyone has posted a bit more so we can use them as a comparison to guess others, killing more than one is just removing the chance of them giving away the king. Not to mention making it more difficult to see any voting patterns. several people avoiding a particular player.
no else has commented because its clearly a joke.. and if anything made more funny if sponge is the king. we cant possibly use this as a tell.
no, imagine you are a mod
there are some jokes that are hard to make because they can affect the voting
i don't trust coq to be able to make that joke regardless of sponge's role; he knows a bandwagon could have been launched from it
the guards aren't just there to potentially give away the king, they protect him and take up valuable votes - as you let guards live, you gradually lose the majority
compare:
1 king, 3 guards, 7 rebels
1 king, 2 guards, 8 rebels
which rebel team wins more often? the second team, obviously
to make this easier to see, suppose we replace all the guards with rebels:
1 king, 3 guards, 8 rebels
1 king, 11 rebels
the second team will find it harder to locate the king, but they still win much more often
/unvote sponge
/vote mutton
are you really trying to outguess the mod?
is that a valid line of reasoning?
of course it is
you trying to discredit me confirms sponge as a rebel
sure thing
shut up cunt
hey guys it's me sponge and I'm most def drunk and most def not the king so fuck kt and no I don't know who the king is so don't ask me to provide alternate theories cause I don't do that. I'm just a rebel
ps if you don't like coor's light you can go to hell number one cheap american brew fuck you
also unkill sycld kill sponge

With 12 alive, it is 7 to stab someone so much they gonna wish they never got stabbed so much
well in a normal game this would be straightforward: lynch sponge find out whats up with mutton
but lynching sponge won't tell us anything about mutton unless sponge is the king (which I do doubt) in which case game over
so obviously QED /unlynch Kt,/lynch simonj
let me remind everyone:
in Mafia 5 i correctly identified 3 players as townies on Day 1
for Mafia 7 i correctly identified 2 players as townies on Day 1, and i wasn't even in the game
you'll notice i didn't give my reasons, and that's partly because there'd be unnecessary backlash as you dumbasses refuse to take advantage of subtle evidence
now, infernus is still the best target because he never gives away anything as the least active poster
Fine, whatever. This setup seems fucking impossible when basically everyone's votes are more or less uncorrelated and random.
/unlynch kt
/lynch infernus
im not mafia man i swear:potty:
Where's the poop?
I think this is going to be difficult until we have put everyone under the spotlight and watched them squirm. While Infernus brings the famous argument 'its not me honest' which gives nothing away still I am inclined to continue suspecting him.
[b]/Unvote Mutton, vote Infernus
I too am still suspicious of Mutton.
