Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I think sponge is King (although there's still always the possibility that he's a guard). Mutton isn't retarded at playing mafia and if sponge really is King, mutton would probably have tried to distance himself from sponge, not point him out.
look, the way I see it if mutton was successful at convincing us that he was rebel, then the best thing he could do for the king would be to exclude him from investigation on pretences. If mutton was going to go down as a guard, the best thing would be to point theatrically at the king as he dies because of course it will look like misdirection. Anyone who was going to vote for sponge because they think mutton's stupid is an idiot, but we have to risk mutton misdirecting us (which I admit is likely) this round or we'll have failed inexcusably to act in the optimal way.

Right, except mutton pointed out sponge and made a big deal about sponge's innocence as a rebel before anyone had a real suspicion about mutton. I'm not going to provide examples because fuck it I'm hungry, but you can skim through the first page (100ppp 4eva) and you'll see that mutton tried to convince everyone that sponge was innocent way before people really started voting for him, not at the very last moment. Fuck, the only reason people really started voting for him in the first place was because he tried to claim that sponge was a rebel.

For some reason the post you made, Think, saying we have no choice but to kill sponge, made me very suspicious of you.
Mind you it could mean nothing because last time I was suspicious of someone for just the way they worded it (simonj in game one) it turned out he was innocent.

I still think lynching sponge is totally the right move at this point. We're one up and muttons posts were suspicious as fuck (past plays by mutton can at least be temporarily set aside because this game is so different). Worst case scenario: killing sponge is addition by subtraction (sorry buddy)
here's a better idea: kill think because he is actually acting like he's a bad guy, instead of me whose only claim to fame was a guard-attempted vindication (or sacking).

I think think is dead but I just want to lodge my vote as it is.
sponge is either the king or innocent, as mutton had a decent point, but also could have been digging too hard to allay suspicion from the king (early premises are often mistakenly assumed for facts.) Since we're already up one guard by fishing out mutton, I say we gamble on sponge.

How can you possibly post at this point without at least mentioning Think's hail mary manoeuvre. He clearly set up Woofness as the king. Now I don't believe for a second that Think (who will clearly be bitter at going out at this point) would stoop so far as to name the king just because he got voted out. But we have to figure out what he was trying to steer us away from or what more complicated mind game he was attempting to initiate.
I'm pretty drunk (its 04:25). I will try to figure this out tomorrow.
