Mom, the accountant, got cataracts right before tax season, worked through it even blinder than she is normally (she has astigmatism)

Mom broke her ankle complete right before tax season, worked through it unable to walk and on pain killers

Mom got breast cancer right before tax season, worked through it sick on chemo and barely able to eat

I told my advisor I'm quitting, then I didn't

I whined a lot about grad school

I went to a couple physics conferences and presented in front of a bunch of nerdy self-important physicists, one in New Orleans and the other in Pittsburgh, where the fancy hotel room I stayed in with 2 Evangelical Christian colleagues became a... hot thingy for some sex.

Half of my lab was moved out to another building far away. Pain in the ass.

I had disappointing dates, short-term flings, and some good or mediocre hookups.

Nothing else exciting.
