There was a picture on Fox's website of a lady sitting amidst rubble, crying. It was sad.
See I was at a morning shift when the bad quake hit. We were all making jokes like, "Maybe it's Godzilla...etc." And then the live feeds started coming in and we were all like, "Oh my god, this is horrific."
And we can all say, "Yeah, America is full of assholes, blah blah blah..." But people in Russia were saying the quake was payback for the Kuril Islands Dispute.

Also, gina, please tell me more about the live feeds a news station gets, I've already been interested in that but never thought to ask anyone. I am curious what "the wire" is and/or looks like. I assume it's just ticker tape rolling out all day while interns in green visors (to block the harsh overhead lighting) pour over all the stories of cats stuck in trees, charlie sheen winning, and god hates fags protests.
Well we were just tuned in to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, all the big stations. I wasn't working at Fox that day, I was at the local.
All the wire stuff we get is from alerts from like, Reuters or the AP, and they just auto-pop up when they cross.
But at News 12 we have an affiliate service from CNN called Newsource, where we can download video and scripts from anywhere and use it on our station.
And that's what I do at Fox, I cut the video, write the scripts and send it out to affiliates.
My jobs are pretty cool minus sitting in windowless rooms all day.
That's disgusting.
Gina you should post some good hi-res pictures from AP/Reuters of the damage over there, I remember on SomethingAwful there was a guy with AP access that posted super huge hi-res pics of stuff.
Or PM me links and I can post them if it endangers your jerb.
I only get APTN feeds at Fox, no pictures, it's straight up video.

Well I mean, America is the 3rd largest country population wise. We're approximately 5 times as large as the UK so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that we have 5 times the amount of ignorant people.
I would hazard a guess that a larger proportion of that slovenly population are ignorant, perhaps 20 times that of the U.K
