    Unhappy Spilled Candies

So I had a bag of swedish fish. I ripped it open and it spilled all over my carpet. Then it got all dirty with dog hairs and whatever else was on the carpet. I rent my house and don't vaccuum. I picked out the dog hairs. But it tastes weird. I didn't want to look for my scissors to open it nicely. I was really sad. I would rather have clean candy than dirty candy. Does anyone know how to open bags nicely so they don't explode and make a mess and fall to the ground? I don't always have scissors with me when I buy food.

In future, this could help. Also putting my scissors somewhere I can find them fast. Don't open the candies until I get home. Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't bother too before. I didn't think they would fall on the carpet like that. But now that I do, it makes sense to get my scissors so this does not happen again. I sometimes use pens, keys or knives to open packages. Something with a sharpened point but it isn't the best. My scissors are getting dull. Should I sharpen it against a rock or a knife? Or should I just buy a new pair?
