The main joke here is that Connolly's Fido, though he never speaks, seems more alive than the rigidly conformist '50s males around him. It's not quite enough to keep Fido more than a slight comedy.

One senses that zombie film kingpin George A. Romero, who satirized consumerism in "Dawn of the Dead," would smile like a proud papa if he saw it.

The best way to describe Andrew Currie’s film is that it’s a cross between PLEASANTVILLE, SHAUN OF THE DEAD and DAWN OF THE DEAD. So basically FIDO is a funny, vibrant, colorful, bloody good time with a social commentary. In short, it’s a perfect zombie movie.

My thoughts - I'm a big fan of zombies. Not just zombie films, but the whole quirky genre that has encapsulated public events(zombie walks), tv shows and numerous comics (Walking Dead), video games (Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead), more and more movies, and so much more. Besides that, I think this was kind of a slow film for me in that I expected a lot of zombie action, but I was pleasantly surprised at the different takes of living and living dead mesh together to form a functional society. Definitely an interesting movie worth a watch. Halloween is coming up, so why not get a little festive and have a zombie flick marathon?
