This is the opposite of cliche. Also, this sitcom predates Scrubs I think (possibly same year as first series).

Either way, it's a very surreal series (and I mean properly so, not by making the main character a bit of a twat who says stupid things), it has a slight sketch show feel, although it's definitely a sitcom. Anyway, I feel I'm just repeating benzss now so I'll stop.

While this may be true, each episode is about 50 minutes long, and then there is an extra episode that is about 90 minutes, so there's not really any shortage of it to go around.
