    Default Green Wing

How many people here have seen this absolutely brilliant comedy series?

For those of you who are unfortunately ignorant, the show is set largely in a hospital and follows various characters in an ensemble fashion (so you have surgeons, anaesthetists, student doctors, staff liaisons etc) in a sort of sketch format... that is to say, the plot is less important than the set-piece jokes. Also, in case you were wondering, it's nothing like Scrubs, since none of the storylines really relate to medicine at all. This could just as easily be based in, I dunno, an airport.

Anyway it has some of the funniest lines of any comedy TV series I've seen (and I've seen a lot of them) so I encourage you all to seek it out. The only downside is that, like most British sitcoms, it is very short; there are only two seasons of around 10 episodes each, but that just means the humour is very consistent and packed in.

I'm sorry, I just can't stand shows that take place in hospitals. It's too cliche these days.

This is the opposite of cliche. Also, this sitcom predates Scrubs I think (possibly same year as first series).

Either way, it's a very surreal series (and I mean properly so, not by making the main character a bit of a twat who says stupid things), it has a slight sketch show feel, although it's definitely a sitcom. Anyway, I feel I'm just repeating benzss now so I'll stop.

While this may be true, each episode is about 50 minutes long, and then there is an extra episode that is about 90 minutes, so there's not really any shortage of it to go around.

Yes, this is a fantastic show; all us Brits know where it is at. LargeDuck can do a spot on Alan Statham impression. Actually terrifying. "I, I s-s-suppose you're thinking....."

Mark Heap is a genius though.
