Anyone seen it? Anyone interested? Thoughts?

I saw it last night before going out and it wasn't really what I expected (I was expecting more Romeo + Juliet from Baz Luhrman) but I really enjoyed it. Both my sister and blonde box of rocks ended up crying during the movie (I have a heart of stone.) I didn't care much to worry about historical accuracy or what have you, but I thought it was a well-developed, compelling story.

My biggest complaint was that the opening scenes introduce an awful lot of characters and it's difficult to keep them apart by name, much less their general interest in the plot. However, I have to say that I never had any problem grasping the story, just that it took me more than the introduction to get a grasp for who everyone was.

I have a feeling this film has some Oscar-baiting attached and I wouldn't be surprised if it won a couple of the technical awards. BBOR and my sister really liked Nicole Kidman but I was rather cynical, so we'll see if she even gets an Oscar nom.
