Yeah, saw the Fountain, movie really is crazy trippy; and yeah I guess aside from the fact that no matter how you put it together, you're summary or analysis of the movie is wrong.

I meant the Danny Boyle one. I know, I know, a lot of people hated it.

Also, Schindler's List on that note?

Whatever Jeremy *last name I can't remember cause I've since meet another Jeremy*, If you can't appreciate the art of that movie, then I don't know who you are anymore.

Heavyweights I understand and respect, quality quality film.

Bushwhacked does not fit that criteria, you might as well be citing jungle2jungle as the greatest movie of all time.

Oh shit, I forgot to add that to my list.

Along with Waterworld and The Postman.

These are movies that must be seen in my opinion. There are plenty of people who would agree with me, all of them are probably not on this forum.

    No-one ever needs fabfunk. Ever.

I'll add Battle Royal to the list. Japanese, so you have to read subtitles, but it is quite interesting.

That film made me realise that it doesn't matter how long one stays in his mother's basement masturbating to animated porn; no one will ever be as pale and pasty as the French. I avoided the film for years thinking it was about a mime based on the front cover.

But yeah, I liked it too. Very cute, romantic movie.

I find French film overwhelmingly charming, on the whole.

Speaking of which, here is a movie that isn't a must-see in the classic sense (ie Casablanca or Lawrence of Arabia - which both are genius films): Girl On The Bridge. I'd put it on the list anyway because it basically sums up French film in one film. The obsession with luck and the whimsical (without going overboard) shine.

The title of that film reminded me of another French film, which, incredibly coincidentally, I would consider to be much the same in terms of not-classic-but-utterly-French quality. It's called, Angel-A, and it's something very very special as far as the cinematography goes.
I love Amelie, Jeux d'enfants and Angel-A, so I'll give your film a watch sometime, Sole

Angel-A is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.

Bande A Part is my all-time favourite French film. It should be watched by everyone.

Has anyone mentioned The Seventh Seal yet? Actually maybe I have, this thread has been going on forever...

Add Bedazzled to the list. Not the awful Liz Hurley/Brendan Fraser piece of shit you understand. The comedic masterpiece that is the 1967 Peter Cook/Dudley Moore version.

    And Spinal Tap.
