Just saw it tonight, thought it was a very good movie. Brad Pitt did a really good job, I highly recommend this movie. Anyone else seen this movie yet? Thoughts?

After having watched Slumdog Millionaire my insatiable thirst for quality movies was quenched when I saw this.

It was visually stunning, the characters were beautiful, seriously. I there was not one character in this movie that was out of place, even the "struck by lightning" guy fit well into the story. My personal favorite was the Irish tug boat captain.

The series of shots of Brad Pitt during his younger years on the motorcycle or on the sailboat made me consider going gay for a second.

Anyway, I highly recommend this film. It's a long one, but every minute of it is worth savoring.

If they had cut an hour from this movie, it could have been really great. Unfortunately it just dragged on and on. Perhaps this was intentional to simulate how it can feel for life to drag on and on, but I can just as easily emulate boredom for free. There was so much potential for a better movie, what a waste. Where he talks about all these events occurring exactly the way they did, and if only one thing had changed then the outcome would have been different; that part was phenomenal! Stuff like that was really interesting and a great way to tell a story, and there were all these other great parts spaced throughout the movie. Unfortunately that's how it felt, a lot of goodness wrapped in layers of boredom. I just don't believe I could force myself to sit through that movie again, and rewatchability is definitely something a good movie needs to have.

I wouldn't have missed it if they had cut the frame story entirely.

But I still really enjoyed the movie.

I just got back from seeing this movie. The film was great and I don't think it dragged at all. I wouldn't have minded if The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons went on for four hours.

Never before I have cried so much during a film, let alone tear up during the beginning, middle, and end.

(Also, yes, Brad Pitt is sooooo dreamy)

Nope. The fantastical ties in the movie weren't magic, they were just coincidence. If you knew everything you knew now, when you were younger, how would you live?

I imagine, just like he did.

I though it was more about how symmetrical life is, and that the differences between age and youth are largely aestheic. One way or another, everyone ends up in a diaper sort of thing.
