Is on Adult Swim now!

KOTH is probably one of my favorite shows ever. Any other fans out there? I know a lot of people think its lame, which is understandable, but to me there is nothing better than getting off work and watching a nice KOTH episode or two.

I hope it stays on Adult Swim, but I have a feeling that it wont stick around due to people not watching enough. Which brings me to another question: How do they get TV ratings? Can they actually tell that I have it on in my house? For real how the hell does that work.

King of the Hill is one of the longest running terrible shows on television. It should have been sent out to pasture after the first boring and completely unfunny season and should certainly not be in syndication anywhere, much less still be produced.

Even though I somewhat agree with the boring, unfunny, the show is enjoyable.

The most prevalent ratings are acquired through Nielsen Media Research. They use something called "statistical sampling". Pretty much all it is is they select a demographic, pick a random group of people from that demographic and then see what they watch. Then they just use that percentage to see how many on average watch in that demographic of the overall population.

There are people EXACTLY like this. I live near many of them, which I why I love the show. Sometimes it's a little boring, but you have to *get it*. I you didn't grow up in a place where your dad went out to the garage to work on a lawn mower, and he enjoyed it, you won't like the show.

King of the hill is only funny if you watch the DVDs with boomhauer's subtitles but then again you would need the DVDs for that

i wonder if this is going to suck. i can't imagine cleveland being a main character.

also koth's texan accents remind me of the west virginian-like accents that some of my relatives have, so i dunno i can tolerate the show.

And it's an okay show. Just not laugh out loud funny. And you have to be really paying attention to be laughing on the inside. It shouldn't really be called a comedy. It's just a show with occasional moments of comic relief.

I watch it every night, I think its hilarious. It's a good show because they are soo fucking stupid. They are the dumbest redneck motherfuckers alive. I don't live anywhere thats anything like KOTH, but I have met people that do and really do think like the characters on the show. I just think its funny to laugh at dumb, close minded rednecks. I am pretty much the opposite of Hank Hill in every way, and yet I watch at least 2 episodes of KOTH a night.

Edit: Also, Mike Judge is a genius.

They remind me of my dad and his friends/relatives. There is not one character that is exactly like my dad, but rather several components from each.
