Here's where all the discrepancies reside then, at least starting with Hiro. How is it that he can "slow" time but not stop it, but then use his power to still jump around the time space continuum like a nut? It has seemed that although this season has been okay so far, the writers are really starting to nitpick about the the characters powers. Almost borderline with the shit they pulled in the original Superman movies. Wasn't it like the second movie where he was able to throw his "S" logo at baddies? WTF?
I felt that episode 7 was kinda alright. Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst. Papa Petrelli seems to be a bit of a cunt lol.
The new episode was alight like you said but the one part how Daphne pretends to be on Parkman's side but shes really not is completely unbelievable. He can read minds, he would know that shes just kidding. Other then that it was alright.
This season is fucking horrible.
I was thinking the same. But maybe he does know and its all part of his plan...I don't like all of this double play and manipulation that seems to be going on now, I mean the idea itself isn't bad but when everyone starts pulling it, it gets kinda annoying.
Yeah, To many people have the same power. Peter, Syllar, and Papa Petrelli all have the same power just have different ways to use it.
Sylar's isn't "steal other peoples powers" though its "understand things" he just uses it to only steal other people's powers and I'm sure theres more he could do with it instead if he chose to.
But it's still the same concept. They all have different ways they steal powers but they all can.
Peter Petrelli doesn't steal, he mimics. It's not his choosing what he can and cannot take in.
Sylar acquires multiple abilities through understanding.
Aurthur seems to be able to absorb only by physical contact.
In closing, Peter doesn't steal.. he can't help it.
It's almost like they are related or something!
not sure if that has to do with anything they just pass down a gene to get a power. look at micah dl and nikki all different types of powers.
Nikki was injected with a serum that wasn't yet fully tested.
Also, I don't actually think they inherited the same power, since they are different.
The dad's power could have evolved, like Matts did.

Matt and his dad had the same powers but to different extents.
Matt's started out different, he only had read access, his father had read/write, then Matt got upgraded to mind admin. It is possible that papa Petrelli's power started off like Peters but eventually it evolved to completely rob a person of their power.
I may be wrong, but didn't Matt's dad say "I had the same power as you until I learned how to fully use it"? Obviously not that exactly, but something similar?
I think I remember something of the sort being said. In season 2, was a long time ago though.
Can't remember mate. But even that doesn't mean that it didn't evolve/change. Take Claire, hers changed to stop her feeling pain.

Apparently they were let go because the executives were upset with the creative direction of the show.

Agreed. You would have expected villains to be close to, if not awesome. It was a dissapointment.
