Well, clear is arguable, but I've never been high on the whole, "This is where the story begins, this is where it ends, now let's make it" in regards to television shows. I like my shows to have the freedom to evolve indefinitely, like Smallville for instance (even though everybody hates Smallville except me and Vanilla Bear). When I want a succinct story with a planned beginning and end I prefer movies or books.
Well you don't have a clear vision of how long a show should last you get Heroes season 3.
--and for that matter LOST season 3.
A show with a definite end is just a really long movie. I'd rather wait for the whole thing to end, download all of them, and watch them in a 7 day marathon.
The reason Lost is so silly to follow is because it doesn't ever tie up any loose ends. Other shows, say Prison Break, tie up everything at the end of each season. To be honest, I'd say you could watch Prison Break in any particular order (season wise) and it would still make sense.
As for Heroes, I wouldn't say quite the same, but it's a whole lot closer than Lost.
...in other news...holy shit last night was awesome.
Seems Heroes has become season 2 of Prison Break.
Damn, I didn't know Heroes was back. Time to get downloading.
But then it's just a 24 or other season-arc serialized shows.
LOST has an overarching mythology, but it also has season-arcs and many other sub-plots.
They opened the hatch at the end of season 1, boom, season 2 premier you know what's in it. Who was in the coffin at the end of season 3? Season 4 finale gave you that answer. Who is on the freighter? You get that answer.
You get answers when you need them, not when you want them. What loose ends haven't really be tied?
Way to bring up prison break though, a show that's getting canceled for going no where.
Damn, last night wasn't bad at all. I like how there was no time jumping to give us a "glimpse" of the future.
Debates aren't about changing minds, just showing you how you're wrong.
Regardless, I like the potential of this season.
Finally got round to watching it, holy shit that was good. Ando cycle was awesome. This series has some serious potential, I will wait till a few episodes in before I get my hopes up but this might just be season 1 quality.
How badass was Sylar? I love it when they try to capture him and it looks like he is going down, then he goes "oh no you didn't" and dishes out a savage raping. I hope that is the Sylar we see throughout the series. I don't care if he is good or bad guy, but when he is a badass he is awesome to watch.
It looks like they may have decided to ditch the same old "here is da future, now lets not make dat happn kk?", I hope we don't see any of that, as good as it was in s1, it shouldn't have got reused the way it did. We have no idea where this one is going to go and I for one am glad, if that episode was anything to go by, its straight ahead to awesome station.
I hope we see more of it. I really do want to see some more Sylar rampages against Nathans goons. I personally love any plot that has a badass badguy in essence helping the good guys through a mutual dislike of the enemy. Tis why I loved X2. You can really root for the bad guy.
I have a feeling that by the end of the season, they're going to try to convince us that what Nathan's doing is a good thing.
Just caught the last 2 episodes, and so far so good. At last we got a glimpse of the future, I wondered how long that would take, that said I like how it is going.
In my honest opinion, this show has now crossed the line into really bad. I've watched the show since episode 1 and it was really good then, but now it just sucks.
This past weeks episode sucked balls, i'm willing to wait for next weeks to be much better but I'm just going to finish the season since I've already watched every episode up till now.
I always tend to just watch a show and just accept it for what it is. A show.
Sylar having a sidekick sucks a bit. I prefer him to be a loner badass motherfucker. I hope he kills that kid, I'd hate him to turn all good. Sylar taking on the government is awesome, he can be a badass yet he is fighting the bad guys, having this kid involved will screw with it.
Our DVR recorded Heroes for me. I still haven't watched and I think this will be the first time I don't really care if I do.
I think it's official
I've given up.
Yeah, reports from Mr. Ausiello, my go to guy for spoilers, says this season gets quite good.
I really hope parkman get blown to bits, all I care for right now.
I read on IMDB that the final episode of season 3 is called "I am Sylar", which sounds like an orgy of awesome and brilliance. A name that epic deserves something special. It better live up to my expectations. Although I doubt it will.
OH shit episode 19 was good. First one in ages where the ending left me gagging for more. My face lit up when that baldy bulldog gets home after pushing Nathan out of the window and finds the bunny rabbit waiting for him. I can't wait to see Sylar destroy him.
They're right, Im watching the 2 latest episodes and it's becoming much better.
BTW I believe Rebel is Micah? Any other opinions? I'm still watching the latest episodes so if it gets revealed by the end of this one then woopsie my bad.
i have been suspecting hana for a while now.
although we haven't seen micah for a while, so it could be the two of them working together. we know they've had contact.
heh, i just got the pun in the name of last episode, "shades of grey"
