Well you don't have a clear vision of how long a show should last you get Heroes season 3.
--and for that matter LOST season 3.

A show with a definite end is just a really long movie. I'd rather wait for the whole thing to end, download all of them, and watch them in a 7 day marathon.
The reason Lost is so silly to follow is because it doesn't ever tie up any loose ends. Other shows, say Prison Break, tie up everything at the end of each season. To be honest, I'd say you could watch Prison Break in any particular order (season wise) and it would still make sense.
As for Heroes, I wouldn't say quite the same, but it's a whole lot closer than Lost.
...in other news...holy shit last night was awesome.
But then it's just a 24 or other season-arc serialized shows.
LOST has an overarching mythology, but it also has season-arcs and many other sub-plots.
They opened the hatch at the end of season 1, boom, season 2 premier you know what's in it. Who was in the coffin at the end of season 3? Season 4 finale gave you that answer. Who is on the freighter? You get that answer.
You get answers when you need them, not when you want them. What loose ends haven't really be tied?
Way to bring up prison break though, a show that's getting canceled for going no where.
