i'm not saying it doesn't seem odd that nobody has asked. i'm saying that i don't give a damn. i'm used to people on this show NEVER ASKING THE QUESTION THEY SHOULD BE ASKING -- it's laziness on the part of the writers, yes, and sometimes it really punctures the suspense, yes. but, as i said, i'm used to it. it's lost. unless there's some enormous glaring question that a character should be asking (and those come up all the time), i don't give enough of a damn to make three, four, seven, twenty fucking five posts about it and then resort to BOLDFACE CAPS to yell at someone else for not being as big of a goddamn whiner as me.

seriously, how the fuck can you be so bothered by nodody asking this guy his name, when nobody's asking things like "why can't you leave the island, why do you want to, and what are you going to do once you do?", "why did we get catapulted through time a whole bunch and what do you have to do with that?", and "how did you become a giant smoke monster if you were once a man?"

and why is nobody (including desmond) asking widmore what he wanted with desmond? what his fucking plan is?

why does desmond systematically avoid asking people why he's so special with his time movey aroundy stuff?

and why did nobody ever repeatedly punch daniel faraday really hard in the face until he told them what he knew about the damn island?

those questions are ALL more important than "what's fakelocke's name", and the answers to all of them are:

because it's LOST.

it's annoying, but it's LOST. it's part of the fabric of the show. grow up for fuck's sake and get used to it, or move on, because nobody really gives a shit about your whining.

So because the unnamed character isn't human, we shouldn't expect the other human characters to behave like humans?

The reason we accept the other unanswered questions is because they are fundamental mysteries of the show. The name of a character isn't a fundamental mystery and, oh by the way, we're discussing the character enough to need to refer to him as SOMETHING.

And as far as the C4 on the plane, I think it's pretty clear that even Lost's writers haven't stooped so low as to have Locke planting it on the plane. I think Linus/Alpert makes more sense. I agree that it looks like Widmore was trying to protect the survivors from Locke.
