I get and understand most of what happened, and the character interations were great and they let us know what happened with most characters(micheal now roams the island whispering). And I liked most of the characters at the end. But I hoped they would atleast explain the damn island. And Jack became nothing like Jocob, immortal or people he touches live forever or anything. I think it's clear that the writers didn't attempt to explain anything, maybe because they didn't know?

They said this was the ending they planned from the beginning, well thats fine but they also said no questions would be left at the end. I dont know the whole final season was very slow paced and didn't explain "much". Not trying to bitch or say this episode ruined my life or that the other 5 seasons of Lost weren't worth it because of a shitty ending (they were totally worth it), but I mean come on..... They scraped the explanations for everything about the island, to bring closure to what happened to the characters. Anyone that says "just because they didn't answer every fucking question" should just stfu right now because ALOT of shit was unexplained.

They (specifically Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof) never actually said everything would be explained, in fact, they often stated the opposite. So, not sure what you mean there.

Atmosfear, the writers gave the Man In Black a name. Samuel. They even wrote it into the script but left it out as they felt it was unnecessary to explain. They also heard you complaining and really enjoyed it.

I like that the bomb never really changed things. And it was the island timeline that truly mattered.

I'm pretty sure he did, but it only lasted a short time because when Desmond removed the stone both Jack and MiB became vulnerable again.

my gripe isn't with a lack of explanation of the magic light, I agree that science fiction is science fiction and that should be enough for fans

but something as real and literal as the statue being built is something we should see, not only was it a mystery from season 1 that is just never explored, but it's a wasted opportunity. It would have made for great scenes, seeing the construction and the life they lead, how it ended (further support to "they come, they fight, they corrupt, it always ends the same"). It would have made for great writing and great tv, but the opportunity was wasted.

Personally i'm bitter because I didn't want jack to die, I wanted to know that the island would continue with him at peace with the island, continuing his life out... bringing more people to replace him and the cycle carrying on. That's just me, I know a lot of people wanted an absolute ending... so I see where fans have been divided.

And because of my interest in jack and hopes for his island future, I was severely disappointed that they wasted so long with slow motion smiles and musical montages, and the cost was we saw nothing of the island's future life.
