I don't care about realism as long as it isn't trying to be realistic. Which is why I didn't have a problem at all with this movie while watching it, I was like "oh ok this is set in some sort of world where all these people have ridiculous strength and can get the shit beaten out of them and still hardly even notice." So yeah if that's the case, then no problem. But punching through concrete walls like that isn't something I've seen in a human. I can understand in martial arts the easy concrete crap they break through, but not the wall in that movie. Assuming I do believe he could do that and not have it phase him, how about being on the receiving end of those punches and acting like they are about as powerful as a poke?

Anyway yeah, I'll just go with the original interpretation that this is its own movie, and changed the laws of the universe it was based in (assuming it was based in anything resembling realism in the first place). It was a pretty cool superhero movie.

It was a decent movie, but if they had found a way to bust it up into two 2+ hour movies, then they might be able to do the graphic novel justice. But I'm not sure that there is a good "stopping point" halfway through the original story that would make people want to watch the sequel two years later...

Another thing that bothered me was the pronunciation of Rorschach's name. It's a German name, god dammit. ROAR-SHOCK. The "a" is pronounced with a short "o" sound. Not "ROR-SHACK". Not "RAW SHARK"

Rorschach and Comedian were portrayed extremely well. I only wish they played up a little more Rorschach's bad hygiene, as the first and only time it was mentioned was
    Spoiler
    . Dunno if that's even spoiler-worthy.

The Comedian was hilarious, exactly as I would expect his comic version to translate to the big screen. A cocky smug asshole who has committed jorrible atrocities in his lifetime, but not necessarily someone you would hate outright.

Hmmm...the only other thing that comes to mind is Silk Spectre I....comic version vs. film version...yeah I think they did good by her in the movie (her young version). I never did like the hair she sported in the comic.

Someone told me that they had to change the Rorschach hacksaw thing because they didn't want uneducated people to accuse them of stealing it from Saw or similar movies.

Enjoyed the movie, and read about the super powers(or lack thereof) And this may be dumb, but how does Rorschach's mask do that.

    He was my fav btw.

Made for Kitty Genoviese, the lady that got stabbed in her apartment courtyard while people watched...

in real life. Popularized the larged crowd/dissipation of guilt theory where more bystanders=less action due to each party justifying inaction.

I saw this on Saturday(supposed to be imax but it was sold out) and I was surprised. I went into this movie knowing absolutely nothing about it, I didn't even know who any of them were. For the first hour to 45 minutes I had my doubts as to how good a movie this was going to be and I was hoping it wasn't going to be appealing to only comic book nerds. Then I started to get drawn into the story and after I was able to forget about the ridiculous lack of realism and the weird parts in the movie I started to really enjoy it. It was a movie unlike anything I had seen before and I was guessing as to what was going to happen for most of the movie. Some stuff like dr. manhatten's dick just flopping around was unecessary and should have been left out. It was distracting to the audience because it was so unexpected. I mean what happened to the speedo he was wearing before? All in all it was a great movie though and I plan on watching it at least one more time before I really judge it.

He dresses in public, and just goes around nude the rest of the time. It was in the comic and is in line with his character.

Yea but why not change that? It didn't appear to have any significant meaning to the story and it was obviously going to produce a reaction from people. Attention was unnecessarily drawn away from the story.

I don't believe it was. I think if you clothed the guy that can see everything in space/time, it would raise a great deal of questions. If I ever meet God, I fully expect him to be nude. Clothing was invented by humans for warmth, and as he has no need for any of that shenanigans, I wouldn't really see him putting on clothes due to the impractical nature of them. That's why he dresses around everyone else, so as not to disturb them.

If he wore a suit to a press conference, then a speedo everywhere else, it would be highly distracting and raise more questions: Why does he wear a speedo when no one is around? It covers his modesty, so why not just wear it all the time, like out in public, to press conferences? Is he secretly gay? I don't think the niduty took away from anything.

... if anything, the female nudity did. What an awkward sex scene. I mean, yeah, that's how I imagined it would be - Night Owl/Dan isn't really... buff. Or fit. And Silk Specter is emotionally detached.

Yea I agree with you in that a being of his caliber would definitely be nude. I mean when I saw manhatten rock out with his cock out the first time I was caught by surprise. Then i got confused as to why he switched between speedos and being naked because he was definitely nude plenty of times when he was around other people so the whole speedo being on sometimes threw me off. I understand that at press conferences he would wear a suit, that makes sense. My biggest problem with it was that I had to hear other people talking about it throughout the movie. Oh and don't even get me started on that sex scene, it was the most awkward point in the movie and yea it might have seemed real but fuck that was awkward.

I ended up doing that thing where I almost got into a fight because I'm terrible at movies and will give the talkers a piece of my mind.

They kept laughing at the dick, and going, "Wow, penis."

And I just turned around, and said, "Never seen one of those before? Feel bad for your girlfriend."

There was a pause as he tried to think of something to say, and I just finished it with, "Don't worry, won't be the only cock that you'll see up close."

Guy got pissed, but luckily he ended up being a friend of the guy I was with. I would have hated to have to run away, as I'm not very fast kick some ASS.

Read the graphic novel and didn't understand how or why they would make this into a movie. Yeah, it looks great and probably made a load of money, but there was too much for it to be a movie and I fell asleep after an hour and a half.

Since we're talking about blue dicks i was reading this cracked article and found this paragraph hilarious.

Silk Spectre bends over to pick up a scrap. I see her lower butt. A lower butt of sin, no doubt. Rotten with the stink of a thousand men rutting in the dark. Dr. Manhattan brushes by me on the way out. His blue dick touched my hand. Does this make me gay? Am I now lustful, corrupted with a sick desire for the penis of a strange blue nuclear emperor? Realize he is god-like being, far beyond human conventions, but he could at least put a sock on it. Just courtesy. But courtesy is a lost child crying on the stoop, abandoned by its teenage whore of a mother.
    Heres the full article.
