I'll also try to get this organized a bit better and add information on how much of those to take and when it's best to take them. Suggestions would be nice as well.

Now, I wouldn't need to take any of this if I'm just basically looking to tone, would I? I see a shitload of it at the gym and my mom bought me some whey stuff when I used to compete, but this isn't going to be a huge benefit for me, will it?

Other than caffeine and vitamins I wouldn't say you would. Honestly, from the pics you've shown us you don't have a lot of work to do. This stuff is more for serious building.

The thing is I might go back and do some national fencing tournaments. But I need to seriously build my leg strength back up anyway. My doctors told me it will only benefit my knees the stronger my legs are.

Before I get em all chopped the fuck up again and have jiggly atrophied legs :/

Well protein supplements would help you out in the toning department, and caffeine would be a good supplement to take as well. Like Mr. Evolved said though, after seeing your pictures I'd say that none of it is really that necessary for you.

This thread is hot, but I have to spread around some reputation before I can give to you again Mr wolford.

And I started using creatine a month ago, I've made great gains.

And I've spend more time peeing as well. Lovely.

Have you noticed changes in its odor/flavor?

dj, the effort is appreciated, but you really should avoid getting information from advertisement sites. A lot of these descriptions are obviously from blurbs that are trying to push product.

Thanks for the suggestion sir. I did make the effort to cut out a lot of the unnecessary stuff, leaving mainly information on the supplements. I still have a lot of revising to do though.

On a side note, change in flavor?

Another one you may wish to throw up there for general health is Fish Oil. Gina this may help you, I'm unsure of your condition exactly, but fish oil is known to help with joint healing. Plus its one of the cheaper supps out there!

Also keeps your hair and skin nice, for those cutting who may miss out on some crucial nutrition.

I tried it. And I tried glucosamine chondroitin and about a gazillion other things so now step 600 is viscosupplementation. (look it up)

I got negarepped or posirepped by people with red reputation twice for this post. Either way, I am confused.

Oh man, I don't know how I missed this thread earlier, but I have shit tons of information on supplements.

I agree about adding fish oil, that's one of the things I take daily, and I am a little surprised no one mentioned L-Glutamine yet, that's another supplement I add into my post-workout shakes. I'll type up some of the information I have/can think of later tonight when I get a chance.

Sweet. If you want to just send it to me and I'll add it to the original post and just add your name to it so you get credit for it. I've been meaning to work on it some more but have stayed so busy that I haven't really felt like doing anything with this thread.

Here's an example of a good reference for creatine, written by Mark A. Jenkins, a team physician for Rice University athletics and director of Rice's Student Health services:

    http://www.rice.edu/~jenky/sports/creatine.html

Though short term studies show little to minimal risk associated with creatine use, no definitive long-term studies have been completed, and there is increasing evidence that long-term creatine use might be harmful. Also, it shows that studies indicate creatine does not improve endurance athletes' performance.

The blurb from the store's site you included above does not include either of these crucial pieces of information (especially the safety information) and no reference at all to back up its claims. You really have to make sure your source is reliable.

The only caveat about this site is that its information is 10 years old. There may be new developments which either clear up some uncertainties in this article or disprove some of this article's claims.

From this information, I'm going to stick to only the whey protein suppliment. I'm not a serious athlete, and as such I probably don't need either creatine or glutamine, though I might considering trying short bursts of creatine consumption in the future.

I only drink creatine post-workout just because it helps relieve the soreness that plagues me post-workout.

Some people use it consistently for 2 months, then take a month off. Then some people just take it religiously.
