    Default Hey fitness fags

I've decided I don't want to get any bigger or stronger and pretty much just want to get cut for summer/beach/lake/any other large bodies of water beside which I can drink because girls don't give a shit about how much dead weight I can lift over my head since it hasn't been a factor in natural selection for the past 500 years and all they really care about is what muscle they can see and how much of a dick I am to them.

I understand that the way to tone is to do more reps, more sets, and less weight, as well as more cardio. How much should I balance between weight and reps, though? I mean if I'm benching 150 in 3 sets of 10, should I cut it down to 75 and do 6 sets of 10? or 3 sets of 20? Or somewhere in between?

    Thanks meatheads.

Well honestly your workout is going to have a lot less to do with weight loss than your diet and cardio sessions, but try working in the 15-20 rep range, doing the same number of sets, lowering your weights by around 25-30%, and doing your reps in a more explosive fashion. That should keep your heart rate a little bit higher during your workouts and burn more fat for you, fatty.

The most important thing for you is to eat clean, drink plenty of water, and up your cardio work by a little bit. Also, not drinking alcohol between now and when you want to go to the beach is pretty necessary.

Wolford's advice is pretty sound. The only way to look more cut without putting on muscle is to lose fat. Six-pack abs start to show up between 12% and 8% body fat, depending on how big the muscles are, so just cut your lifting weight, up your reps and cardio, diet, and stay away from beer. Beer is a cutting cycle killer.

This is 100% why I do not have a six-pack.

    I have a question....

If I was to not drink beer at all, but instead take my alcohol the good 'ole liquor route, so long as I kept my normal calories per day around the same, would this fuck up me getting cut?

I assume it's the excessive amount of calories you must consume,in order to get drunk, that can fuck a workout up, but i just wanna know if I'm wrong

As far as I know Scars, drinking liquor instead of brews should help alot. If you can keep away from the beer yuo should be able to get cut. It's called a beer gut for a reason.

The liver has 2 main functions, cleaning your blood is its primary function, and lipid movement is its secondary process. If you drink enough water and stay away from the alcohol (beer and liquor) you loose fat that much faster.

I am not a fan of high reps to 'tone'. I feel over 12 reps becomes useless and your lifting becomes a poor cardio session. I would stick with trying to lift heavy, cut rest times, and add an intense cardio session after your lift. Like 45 mins at 70-80% of your maximum heart rate. If you can, do interval sprints instead for 20 mins.

Tabata is the only exception for higher reps in my book. Try it for the next 4 weeks while dieting on a low carb diet. At day 15, mix in a high caloric day so your body doesn't shut down. Done right, that will get you cut and pumped for Blonde Box of Rocks and her friends.

Losing fat is about a negative caloric intake, just make sure at the end of the day you've taken in less than maintenance (use a rough estimation like 11xyour body weight) and you will lose weight.
