I drunkenly agreed to take part in the tough guy challenge, and event held in the north of England on the last weekend of January consisting of a long cross country run and a ridiculous obstacle course.

I am a stoner. This is my issue.

I have a year to prepare and obviously I will be doing plenty of aerobic exercise (I have started running) but I am looking for advice on routines to build core strength without weights or attending a gym and also suggestions for conditioning myself. It will be between 0 and -10 degrees Celsius and I will have to crawl through icy water, wade through a lake and then run with wet freezing stuff on. I'm not entirely sure how to prepare myself for that.
