We also have a wide variety of downloadable resources online that you can use to motivate your team.

    • Put on Your Jeans. Whether it’s on Oct. 2 or another day of your choosing, don’t forget the best part! Put on your favorite jeans as an act of solidarity in the fight against breast cancer. As a participant, you are welcome to a discount on Lee.com—check your kit for coupons. And visit the Denim Day Shop for your Denim Day apparel, where $5 of every purchase goes to Denim Day.

    • Collect Donations. There are two ways to collect donations. Ask your team members to submit them online from your team page so you can watch as you climb closer to your goal, or you can collect donations from your team members and submit them via cash or check.

    • Celebrate. It is our hope that we will again raise millions for groundbreaking research on Denim Day, and it will be because of your efforts. Pat yourself and your team on the back, and celebrate your contribution in the fight against breast cancer.

    Lee National Denim Day® History

Since its inception in 1996, Lee National Denim Day has adhered to a simple philosophy: one day, one cause, one cure®. In 13 years, that philosophy has become a mantra for millions and has made an impact Lee Jeans never dreamed possible.

It all started when several Lee Jeans employees realized that each of them, in one form or another, had been touched by breast cancer. An everyday conversation sparked an idea and led to the creation of Lee National Denim Day, which has become one of the largest single-day fundraisers nationwide for breast cancer.

In its first year, Lee Jeans set a goal of raising $1 million on Lee National Denim Day. To do this, Lee Jeans invited companies to go casual for a cause, inviting employees to wear their jeans to work on Denim Day in exchange for a $5 contribution to the fight against breast cancer. The underlying concept behind the program was simple—by convincing enough people to take one small step, together they could reach an incredible goal.

The response to the inaugural Lee National Denim Day program was astounding. That year, more than 3,000 companies signed up to participate, raising $1.4 million dollars for the fight against breast cancer, setting the stage for what would become one of the most captivating social action campaigns in the country.

Since its first year, Lee National Denim Day has raised more than $75 million for the fight against breast cancer and unites nearly one million supporters nationwide each year.

    Where are your donations going?

Net proceeds from Lee National Denim Day will benefit the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to:

    • Fund Lee Laboratories for Translational Research nationwide, which work to create more effective, less toxic treatments for breast cancer and increase patient access to some of the most significant clinical trials in the nation.

    • Develop a blood test for earlier detection of breast cancer via the Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery Project, a multiyear effort led by world-class scientists.

    • Help the National Breast Cancer Coalition create Web-based and print resources that provide individuals with evidence-based information about breast cancer and increasing the number of advocates nationwide who can help bring information about new trials to the public.

Participate, have fun, spread the word, & fuck breast cance!
