    Default Dead Island

Well I suppose this needs it's own thread now. tl;dr, I like it, worth the $37.50 I got from the Steam 4 pack, great immediate patch support from Techland, I look forward to continue playing.

Game came out today for us Americans, I'm playing it on PC. I like it so far, yes there are bugs, yes they are being patched, rather quickly. Already 2 patches on Steam, I guess the argument is we have a developer build, and the Europeans will get the more polished build by the 9th. The only two bugs I've encountered so far was the keyboard not working, that was patched immediately. The 2nd bug was pressing Y let you fly around in noclip mode, I never tried it but I read it, that was patched about 2 hours ago, and it also corrupted/deleted our saves (I guess because people could just cheat and fly all around), I went ahead and started over but maybe in a couple hours they might fix that save thing, unless they truly intended to screw people over with that patch who have already put 10 hours on the game. I only had 1 hour so it's all fine.

It's basically as the description said it would be, Left 4 Dead Mega Melee Style RPG. I think it's a little more slower paced than L4D though, and you may have to fight a little more strategically. I find that spamming the mouse click button normally gets me killed. I really hate weapon deterioration, even though it's basically the same exact concept as buying ammo for your gun, this just feels a little more depressing to lose your weapon. I was a conservative ammo user anyways. The game starts off a bit slow, the movements feel a little slow, but you can sprint (making it slightly faster than L4D). The graphics run pretty nice on my GTX460, computer gets a bit hot though. I just turned down the graphics, they still look pretty nice and I'm getting 70FPS with no dips according to MSI Afterburner.

The multiplayer is alright, it's better to play with a friend and skype of course, not really sure how the in game voice works. I heard someone using it but mine wouldn't work, didn't seem there was a key for push-to-talk either. You can play your own game, set your game to 3 private slots so no random people join your game, but then the game will always notify you if anyone is around the same area as you in the game, you can press J to join them (if they have public slots available).

The only weird thing about this game, is it's a first person RPG. I haven't played any other first person RPG's, and I have nothing against this, it just FEELS extremely awkward to be accepting quests in first person, thats just me though.

lol@ steam forums being full of cry babies though.

According to this thread w/ no source, it says the save file delete was intentional
