GW2 Beta sign ups.

I had a chance to play this game several times at Comic-Con last year and I have to say it's the best MMO that I have played in a long time. For reference, I have played; WoW, SWTOR, WAR Online, LoTRO, Rift, Aion, APB, Forsaken World, FFXI and FFXIV and this game tops them all from the time that I've played.
Nooooo...
Now my chances of getting in will go down ever so slightly for each person that signs up from here

I don't think so, I had Cross Fire on for 2 of the sign up, off for 2 and a 2 with an older video card.
Pupe... I have but one xfs card and one alone. I could take out a stick of RAM for some of the entries...
Also, apparently GW2 is going to come to some consoles, post-release...

As long as they aren't on the same servers as PC players I'll be fine with it. A gamepad could sever skill from players for a game that was designed for KB&M.
I'm SURE they'll find a way to adequately adapt the control scheme to a gamepad.
There aren't going to be more than 10 skill buttons one would use at any one time, but yeah I don't know how either inventory management or weapons switching will work.
But isn't it great that for ONCE a new game is going to be designed for KB&M in mind FIRST, and gamepads as a secondary thought???
Another thing, however, that this makes me wonder is about how this game is going to be adapted to run off of 5 to 7 year old hardware of current gen consoles. Maybe this means that it'll run on old legacy PCs, but hopefully without compromising on graphics for newer systems. I've heard that the game is gorgeous, and that ArenaNet's intentions are to try as best as they can to exploit new hardware while allowing it to function on old hardware.

Consoles run on architectures that can fully utilize their hardware, so optimal performance will probably be a low-medium compared to PC. Socialization will be harder for console players too.
I see.... so you mean that worse hardware on consoles isn't directly comparable to the same hardware on PC's because it's used more efficiently in consoles?
And by "low-medium" you mean as compared to a benchmark PC that can run the game on "high" settings? so then the 5 to 7 year old hardware in consoles is comparable to performance on a 3 to 2.5ish year old PC?

Exactly, prime optimization for the hardware in these consoles was only really hit about 1 year ago, now they use software tricks. Depending on how much detail there is going to be in this game, I'd say medium is probably where consoles can max the game without going under the 30 FPS. One thing the PS2 had for FFXI was keyboard support, so I was able to talk to people properly, I don't know if this will be the case for these consoles, we'll just have to see.
Played TERAs beta today just to see if it's doing any good. It really isn't, the game feels about as hollow as FFXI.
EDIT: I'll be playing throughout the weekend, so maybe my mind can be changed over time, so far though, not anything good.

Public beta doesn't start till march, so as early as next weekend and as late as 5 weekends from now.

Also if GW2 beta doesn't start on midnight of March 1st, I will do something awful. Unfortunately it looks like a tragedy will almost certainly be caused to happen.

Oh gad lol this looks like it'll be a pain in the butt
I remember ripping my hair out on Maple Story Jump quests lol. Sadly this aspect makes it seem like a clunky unfinished 3d platformer, though I guess they want you to have the timing and heights of the jump perfect, that's why it can't be so frustrating. That and the special visual effects on your character can be disturbing during these jumping puzzles..

AT&T, I don't pay, but I bet my landlord pays something like 25 a month. I used to have it back at my family's house. It's about 600kb/s down and 60kb/s upload lol.
I've only had the privilege of 2mb/s down with comcast at my cousin's house. I want the luxury of some fast internet.. I see my friends have like 50MegaBITS/second at their schools..
I think my internet does pretty darn well. Wish the up was a bit better.
You can't imagine how difficult it is to keep my torrent ratio up..
yeah my friend has 50mbps at USC, so about 6.25 mb/s -_-. So lucky. I live in San Jose, close to the heart of the Silicon Valley. And it's so dumb, my dorm was giving me 60kb/s down 6kb/s up. I had to pay an extra $24/month to get the speeds I have now.
You would think technology like that wouldn't even exist in such an advanced santa clara county..
